Note: 1 star based on google's definition, where 2 stars is classified as "okay" (which is not how I feel about our experience). We were in town for a wedding where we were, in theory, in a block with the wedding party (although our room was booked incorrectly and also charged incorrectly on the wrong credit card).

The hotel is beautiful after their remodel and we had no issues with the rooms themselves. The restaurant staff were lovely and organized. However, there were so many issues with room booking and logistics that it was simply unacceptable. These issues spanned a significant number of people in our party-- including not only the bride and groom themselves but the mother of the bride, the grandparents of the bride, and a groomsman-- in various separate bookings (i.e., the issues were not only the room blocks). We ended up venmo-ing each other money because we did not trust the hotel to correctly bill us for the rooms as directed.

If you consider this hotel, I would note that management is extremely difficult to coordinate with, requiring months of regular prompting to get basic services completed like reserving a room block. Further, even receiving a confirmation email that says your booking was confirmed does not mean you actually have a room (or have the type of room that you asked for)-- people brought emailed printouts saying their rooms were booked and were told by the hotel that they didn't know what happened but they didn't see the reservations (again, this is separate from the room block issues, which were related but different). Additionally, be careful about the hotel mysteriously checking you out in the middle of your stay due to front desk staff errors and be careful that you are the only one who receives your receipt and information. The level of difficulty in booking the room blocks, a service that is offered by the hotel and seems like it ought to be a mutually beneficial scenario, led us to joke that the hotel is actually a money laundering scheme and they were trying to prevent us from actually staying there.

If you are trying to book a block of hotel rooms and finding it really difficult, I would encourage you to trust your gut and look elsewhere. Unless their hotel management staff changes, the headaches they cause are not worth it-- especially for important life events like weddings. As Maid of Honor, I've been hearing from the bride how the Hilton at Marietta has been a "nightmare to work with" for ages-- they lived up to that.

One final note: none of the issues described here were comped and many incurred extra costs (some of them substantial, e.g., the bride and groom paid about $1600 extra, not sure about the total costs for every error that occurred). I understand looking at the previous negative issues, many of which describe similar issues, I will likely receive a boilerplate apology for this review, but this doesn't feel sufficient, nor am I the person who most deserves an apology for...

Our visit was dedicated to celebrating the life of a transitioned loved one that we will miss wholeheartedly. Our day started with a search for lodging and the woman that helped us via phone was kind and patient. I do not remember her name as her accent was thick, but she spoke slow enough to assist. We read countless reviews for hotels in the area we were traveling to and this one stood out amongst others.

When we arrived, around 10ish (pm) we were greeted by 2 people, a gentlemen who kindly said hello though he was really dry, and a bubbly, delightful woman named Julie. Julie has absolutely no idea how her kindness changed our night. While traveling to family to celebrate our loved one’s life there were moments of deafening silence and moments of laughter all amidst some tears and frustration so we needed a bit of “uplifting”.

Julie informed us of several Hilton Honors Benefits that we were not aware of and though we did not take advantage of one of them, we now know that the benefit is available. Be sure to read the paper that you are given during check-in because it is filled with information that you’ll wish you knew.

Upon arrival our room was short 1 towel and 2 wash cloths. Because we know that evening hours can be a bit rough even while quiet we opted to wait until morning to request the items. When we called to make the request we were told that the items wouldn’t make it to us until after 8am, which we were fine with. Around 8:20ish (AM) the requested items were delivered and roughly 2-3 minutes later someone from front desk called to see if we received the items.

Our room was clean and serviced daily. The house keeping staff was pleasant and gently spoke when they saw guests in the hallway. The only issue we had with our room was the slow draining sink, which for us was EXTREMELY minor and it interfered with nothing at all. The refrigerator in our room worked well and was spacious, unlike many Hilton Hotel refrigerators. We were able to store To Go boxes and drinks in the refrigerator without issue.

For breakfast we dined at Hamilton’s. We enjoyed the entire buffet, as opposed to only the continental breakfast. Yes, the price seems a bit high, but between the service, food, quality, variety, and atmosphere it was worth it.

As we departed we were once again greeted by Julie’s bubbly personality as she wished us safe travels. If we could choose who we interact with every time we visit this location we’d always choose Julie thanks to her amazing, comforting, and uplifting spirit.

This was our first time lodging at this Hilton Hotel, and as long as we continue to get what we received this time we will return again, and again, and again. Thank you to Julie and the many staff members we encountered during our stay. We appreciate your gentle kindness and professionalism.

For the record, no one was aware of the reason for our travel, everyone was either sincerely genuine and/or professional and we’ll...

Stayed there overnight to attend a funeral the next day. We wanted to make sure we stayed at a hotel with a restaurant, as we knew we wanted to dine there after a long drive. Resturant was lovely, as was the entire hotel. First of all no one greeted us at the restaurant, so after a few minutes we seated ourselves. There were 3 people seated at the bar and another couple in the large dining area. A sweet lady came to our table and presented a menu to us. A reaonable time later she came to take our order and we started off with drinks...beer and I had a glass of wine. There were only two servers in the resturant...a young male and this sweet lady. The male mainly stood behind the bar, while this lady busted her backside. Patrons started pouring in and they were doing take out orders too. This sweet lady tended bar, waited tables, brought out dishes as we observed her hustle and bustle for the one and a half hour we waited for our dinner order. I didn't have the heart to tell her my wine tasted like the bottle was opened a week ago, so I just drank my water. Finally, our plates arrived and my order was partially wrong...but again...it wasn't her fault. We finally noticed the young male refilled a glass of water and about 2 minues of receiving a "bottled" condiment, he came over and asked if we were finished with it, took it to a nearby table, brought it back and ceremoniously "plopped" it back down onto our table...so a Hilton resturant has only one " bottle" ??? And why was it even brought to us in a "commercial bottle"? At breakfast the next morning...the biscuits were hard as a rock...the grits, gravy were so heavily salty they were not edible. The bacon was perfect and the scrambled eggs thankfully missed the bucket of salt. Three of the staff members were arguing audibly. I've stayed at Hilton Hotels in various states, so I was shocked at how this one failed on good food prep, and staff (except the hardest working waitress I've ever seen). Location was in a high traffic area with a hospital down the street. So the sound of ambulance sirens was a given. But who doesn't like to be lulled to sleep with sirens in the background. The hotel itself was very nice (probably the most well appointed Hilton I've stayed) and clean and the beds were comfortable, so thankfully there was that. 4 stars because the hotel is very nice and fortunately for them, the cooks and service can be trained and improved if anyone cares to do so. So management, etiquette 101, professional behavior and a much improved kitchen will get you what everyone expects while...
