Overall, Natty's is amazing. It is THE best food that I've ever tasted in my entire life. The idea of Jamaican Soul Food in itself sounds genius but until you actually try some of their dishes like the jerk chicken dressing, collard greens (made out of nothing but pure love; they're unlike ANY collards you will ever taste), mac & cheese and curry/jerk chicken just to name a few, then you will truly understand. They also serve Jamaican favorites like patties, cocoa bread and bean pies. Everything on the menu is soooo good. The staff is also amazing, as it is a family business. They are all so kind and treat all of their customers like family. The restaurant is ALWAYS clean... for me that is a big deal. The prices for the food are awesome. I love that they offer lunch and dinner prices. I also like the fact that the restaurant has expanded recently with a lounge for hosting different events throughout the week. The only problem I have is that it seems like when I'm craving the food really badly and go to get it, they're sometimes closed, despite being within regular business hours. I just feel that a note or sign should be left on the door for customers at least saying that they're closed for the day and when they'll reopen. This last time of me craving Natty's and not being able to get it only resulted in me making a bad decision, going to another Jamaican restaurant across the street and ending up disappointed and left with a stomach virus because the food wasn't properly cooked in a clean environment. I would also suggest bringing back the mango lemonade at least once a week. I've been a customer here for a long time and I can truly say that this restaurant is one of the best restaurants in the city. The food and service here cannot...
Read moreThe place is called Nattyâs, but it should be called Nottyâs â as in, not go there again.
This is my second time eating at Nattyâs. When I tried it the first time, it was not good. It tasted like they had reheated some food from the day before. The gravy was ultra thick, but some kind of way it still tasted bland with no flavor. I wanted to give them a try because Iâm new to Marietta, and I really wanted to find a good Jamaican spot out hereâbecause the pickings are slim.
Letâs talk about the restaurant itself. When I got there, the place just looked run downâold, not clean, and honestly gave off ârat holeâ vibes. But I had to tell myself that you can't judge a book by its cover.
I ordered the oxtails. Let me be realâthey looked like throw up. Just dark and sloppy. The rice and peas? Mushy with an odd, almost sour taste. Not fresh at all. The cabbage had no flavorânone. Just sad and boiled. The plantains were mushy too, like theyâd been sitting too long. Nothing on the plate had any life to it.
And the service? I could tell they were busy, but the lady at the front treated me like I was bothering her just by showing up. No greeting, no smileâjust attitude like I ruined her day by walking in.
I really wanted to support a Jamaican spot in the area, but this ainât it. From the food to the vibe, everything was just off.
Nattyâs might be the name, but Nottyâs is what it should be calledâbecause I will not be going back.
To sum it up, the food was a flop, the vibe was off, and the service had an attitude. What...
Read moreSo Iâm mad at the reviews because I assumed the food would at least decent... I ordered the jerk chicken plate initially with Mac and cheese but noticed it was old as hell couldnt believe she still tried to serve it. So I asked for the cabbage instead. It was 640 when I paid for my food. I went straight to my car to eat because I was hungry. I keep smelling a bbq smell & Iâm hoping & praying that they didnât put sauce on my chicken. The food was so nasty I left it in the parking lot. Meat was burnt cabbage over cooked just all bad. Wasted 12 dollars might as well have it to the man down the street who needed more. I will gladly ride past now knowing I gave them a chance.
**in response to owner since they responded your jerk chicken plate is 11.00 my order came up to 12.00 because I asked for oxtail gravy which I was charged for. I didnât get a drink. I left the food in the parking lot because honestly the lady was nice & didnât want to go back in there an act rude. She already didnât have any help & the food she had was no good! So I did right by leaving it there because I did my part by supporting another black owned business but like establishments like yours thrive on mediocrity. Be...
