Esmeralda's Restaurant — Restaurant in Marion

when this place opened I gave it good reviews and then this business started to pick up. these people have got greedy and say for instance the Marion plate is 899. I guess during lunch but they mark it up. $4 for dinner and don't even put that on the menu. they have all these hidden prices now that are way too much. they've got greedy and ahead of themselves. One time I came in there for enchiladas and there was a piece of metal in my food. I kindly brought it to their attention and they had absolutely no emotional reaction whatsoever. they only said do you want us to remake this instead of saying? oh my gosh we are so sorry You could have died from eating that let us give you a free meal and the next one. We are so sorry that will never happen again. No, they never said anything close to that. I am extremely disappointed. they are simply taking advantage of people in Marion. The service is horrible. they don't ever come to ask if you would like any to go containers if you need a refill or anything else and of course they expect a tip. bottom line they charge way too much for way too little. they are taking advantage of people and they could care less. I will definitely take my business back to la...

Atmosphere: The restaurant was hot. It was 85 degrees outside and 82 inside. There were 5 window A/Cs running but they couldn’t keep up. There was no music to drown out the roar of the A/Cs. The carpet had holes in it. The table and menus were sticky.

Service: The waiter barely spoke broken English. He asked me if I was ready to order. I said yes and started to order. He then ran away to hug a kid (his kid?) left unattended in a booth. He came back a couple of minutes later and took my order. I had to peel the menu up from the table (where it had stuck) to point to the entree I wanted. Not a great 2nd impression.

Food: The queso was from a can - no spice or peppers. The salsa was very thin. The burrito was OK, but they didn’t bring anything to cut it with. I would’ve asked for a knife but I never saw the waiter again.

At least Taco Bell has (somewhat) clean tables and effective air conditioning for a little less money. Next time I’m in town, I’ll try to find...

We stopped by here on our way home and absolutely loved the food! It was delicious! The restaurant itself isn't the nicest place but it doesn't matter when the food is this good. Our service was average at best. We asked our waitress for more chips and salsa and she never brought out. We ended up asking someone else and they brought it out. There were only 2 other people dining in the restaurant so there's no excuse to not have better service. There were also kids that were related to the employees running all around and at one point ended up in the booth with my wife which almost caused me to leave. They finally realized the kids were climbing all over my wife and they took them into the back. With all this being said we would absolutely return to Esmeralda's because the food...
