Super disappointed with this place. All of the soda was too āsyrupyā and when we told the waitress about it she just laughed and asked if we wanted water instead. The tea tasted very old. We could see the kitchen staff in the kitchen on their phones while wearing the gloves they were using to prepare the food. The waitress kept going over to the only other people in the restaurant (Iām assuming family of the people that own it) and playing with a little baby and touching her and all of her toys and then going and getting our food and refilling our drinks without washing her hands. I ordered the chicken and bit down pretty hard on a big piece of bone. When we told the waitress about it she again laughed and said thatās wrong because all of the chicken is pre cut so that couldnāt have happened. We held up the bone and she kinda just walked away after seeing it. The food was very salty. We were a party of 6 and the waitress forgot to put one of our meals in so while five of us were finished with our meals and ready to go the other was just getting their plate. And again the waitress just laughed about it and said it would be out shortly because she forgot to put it in. The meals each came with a salad(one of my fav parts of hibachi meals) and we never got them. I asked at the end of our dinner if the meals came with salads or if I read the menu wrong and the waitress AGAIN laughed and said oh yeah we are out of lettuce. Which is fine to be out of something, but she shouldāve let us know at the beginning and since it was part of the meal some $ should have been taken off for the lack...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: 9-15-24...they are only accepting pick up. Bring cash just in case. They said they were having problems with the credit card machine. I think they are under new management. They just recently opened back up from over amonth of being closed. The crab ragoons are not the same. I'm sad. They used to be so good. That was the only reason why I liked this place. The food prices went up too. The hibachi was good. I ordered the steak and chicken hibachi with fried rice with only broccoli. I asked for extra teriyaki like I normally do...didn't seem to extra to me. Wasn't the same. Total let down. I would eat here again but my excitement has went down tremendously. Uggg. Thanks tho for providing me with a meal before work.
Update: it's been a whole year since I wrote my review. The last 2 times I ordered crab ragoons, there was hardly any filling in my over crunchy shell. Yet I see you raised the price! Van java has been my most favorite place but I won't pay high prices for poorly cooked food. I have been a regular all year long. But recently your food just hasn't been the same. I hope you improve because if not then I will have to find a new favorite hibachi.
I got my food to-go. So far this place has the best crab ragoons. I got the chicken hibachi with fried rice. Chicken was very flavorful and delicious. My boyfriend got the NY steak fried rice hibachi. It was also delicious...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTook my son in for a late lunch early dinner today. Had the place pretty much all to our selves but being 330 on a Tuesday I am sure had alot to do with it. I'm a server so I have high expectations on service. Couple things I would do different would be to check on the food quality after the first couple of bites not when we are ready for boxes, and drinks that have free refills should never go below half, was never asked if I would like more to drink because I would have. We started with the Crab Rangoon which was the best I have ever had!!! We both had the filet done medium and shrimp, my son added chicken with his and both with yum-yum sauce. The filet was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy, the shrimp was good but was almost overdone but still very good. My son said the chicken was dry and he is really picky but I did try it and I have to agree it was dry and not alot of flavor but still able to eat it with the sauce. Have to say the price was very good for Marion and I will definitely be back with my husband. I would say a very nice addition to Marion. My only advice would be to definitely wipe down the menus , not take carry out orders on speaker phone when you have guest in the restaurant, but other than the few serving suggestions I would definitely recommend to my...
