Placed a pick up order at 4:40pm for $200 worth of food. Was told food would be ready in 20 minutes which I knew did not sound realistic. Came to the restaurant about 40 min after I ordered. When i came in the owner at the register said they are still working on it and they need a few minutes. I sat down and waited watching them fill a few orders before mine. Sat for a good 30-35 minutes, paitenly waiting, without anyone communicating to me how long it was going to be. I assumed they are prepping my food and maybe they were waiting on one item before giving me my order. Then, a cook starts reading off orders left to the main chef and my ticket was the first one he picked up. I thought this is it, finally getting my food and getting out of the place as i assumed it was a role call for things that are ready. The main chef takes the ticket and throws it to the side saying, "this one has to wait" and moved on with the next one. I got up and asked if they made a mistake as my food was supposed to be ready, at this point, 1 hour and 30 min ago. The guy waives me off and just tells me , "yes, just wait " and casually moves on reading off all his other orders. I then saw them put on a brand new gyro rack of meat to cook and understood that they filled all these other smaller orders on the old rack and decided to cast my order aside as i got a whole tray of gyro meat. I was trying to be respectful of their process and not bother them but it turned into them prioritizing every order before me. I got up and started to ask them what is going on and why they decided to skip over my order multiple times and what happened to my order that they said would be ready 20 minutes after it was placed. The owner said that she didnt take my order and she is not the one cooking the food. I asked her if she didnt take it, who did and who promised me 20 minutes? She then started saying that she mispoke and just meant that she did take the order but she is still not the person making the food. Keep in mind, this is the OWNER i am talking to who is, instead of appoligizing and assuring me that it will be taken care of, is just trying to say she is not cooking the food as if i should just excuse her and her restaurant and go take it up with the chef directly. Here is where it gets crazy. The main chef says that he only needs 15 - 20 minutes to cook the new rack enough to serve me an entire tray full. I know the gyro cooking process and i know that the amount of meat that we ordered was going to take a minimum of 40-45 to cook properly if cooked off a RAW rack. I told him this is BS and if he serves gyro portion big enough to fill a tray he was going to poison people. I then started to demand a refund. The owner said that she cannot refund for 24 hours as her system does not allow this and i would need to call tomorrow to ask for refund. I told her i am not leaving and asked her to give me cash. Then the chef starts telling her something in their native tongue and she turns to me to tell me that the food is now ready. I said, while looking at the meat cooking, that there was NO way that lamb cooked well enough to serve. The chef turns around and starts to cut it to prove that its ready and, within the first 2 cuts, i see layers of raw meat coming off. He then covered up the rack and put the heat higher and finally acknowledged it was not ready. Miraculously, the owner figured out how to use her software and refunded my credit card after that instantly. This place is a dump and they have no idea how to run a business or do the right thing for their customers. This was not my first time in this restaurant, but its most certainly my last. We catered a huge order for a birthday party in August and they messed that order up as well. We were going to give them the benefit of the doubt but after this I'm letting it all be known. 750 worth of food that time came with mostly tasteless meat and uncooked rice. Called Galata on 79 when i walked out to place similar order. Takes 10 min to drive there and only waited 10 extra min when i got there to...

Read moreAmazing food and great portion sizes. I filled up on all the different types of salad before my entree, but I have to say that the dessert did it for me.
Let me tell you when I say that I "despise having cheese in my konafa (spelled phonetically as best I could)" I seriously can't stand it. I would eat it at people's homes just to be polite. This place made me rethink that assertion. The cheese tasted oh so good. It was gooey and came out like a string, nice and warm. Oh so tasty. I don't even like this dessert crunchy but I ended up eating 3/4 of one (my dad took the last quarter) and my son looked at me and wondered how I could eat it with cheese (seriously, I couldn't stand this dessert with cheese before I had it here). I wanted to take the leftovers home with me but thankfully someone else beat me to it (my stomach says "thank you").
As for the entree, I had the shawerma without the spice and that was so filling and I loved the taste of the salad that went with it. My wife had the shish kebab with filet mignon and let me tell you, get it medium rare as it was cooked to absolute perfection (bright red and still juicy). I know what I'm getting next time.
Lastly, the people who served us made it even more enjoyable. It's such a pleasant atmosphere and great service that I felt like I was eating at home because I so comfortable. The managers/owners went out of their way to make sure we didn't need a thing and spoke to us about how they prepare food differently than other restaurants thereby giving them a distinct competitive advantage. In summary, what a wonderful experience and I'm telling you, I'm simply going back for...
