DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY. After waiting 15 minutes for my first drink here I had only ordered a $1 pbr special. I drank it and went back 20 minutes later for another and watched the bartender serve literally everyone else around me first. I waited over 20 minutes with money in my hand, then ordered two drinks because of how long the wait was. Once I received them the bartender rudely said "just so you know, I'm not going to serve you unless you tip me". EXCUSE ME? I have worked customer service for 7 years and that is NOT how you treat people. I usually tip every other drink when only ordering beer or at the end of the night, I never don't tip at all, plus I needed to break a larger bill to do so and fully planned on tipping that time. That was the most ignorant thing I have ever been told by anyone and she's lucky I didn't throw the drink in her face. That is exactly why you dont get tips in the first place. Tips should be based on service and are absolutely not a guarantee and THIS IS NOT SERVICE. Screw this place. DO...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLook Iāve been going to this bar for 10 years and I love this place but donāt go there with the manger is working her service horrible. The rest of the bartenders are great but she leaves such a bad taste in my mouth I just canāt drink there anymore.
Edit to add more. The manager personally messaged me through Facebook which I didnāt care for and said some stuff. So, here is the rest. Lowering my star rating from a 4 to a two for the personal messages.
I went there for years and got ignored and rude service from her, the rest of the staff is amazing. Not until she saw how much I spent and tipped the bartenders that gave me great service did she even acknowledge my presence. I donāt care for that or the personal message. Itās really unprofessional and disrespectful.
I loved the nickel been going there since 2010, but I see no point in returning until the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf youāre looking for that quintessential ādive barā feel, look no further than the Nickel! Itās a bar with all the essentials, and nothing else. Itās rumored to be the oldest continuously operated bar in Marquette, and it shows that through its rustic nature. There are only a few tables, and the majority of the space is for standing room. About 25% of the floor space is reserved for the pool table, and thereās also outdoor seating if youāre lucky enough to visit in the summer. The drinks are cheap and the fun is grand at the Nickel, so stop by for a pint of youāre looking for the Last of...
