A Hidden Gem in Marquette – Perfect for Solo Travellers!
As a solo traveller, my top priorities are always safety, comfort, and a welcoming atmosphere and this hotel absolutely exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived (a day later than planned due to a delayed flight), the staff were understanding and accommodating without hesitation.
The room was incredibly spacious and well-equipped, featuring two double beds, air conditioning, a modern TV, fridge, and microwave. Everything was very clean, modern and had everything I needed.
One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast. The variety was genuinely impressive: Greek yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, cereal, hot items like sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes, porridge, and a waffle machine with endless topping options. Each morning there was fresh pastries, muffins, sourdough, bagels, and plenty of drinks such as cranberry juice, apple, orange, chocolate milk, water, and coffee with different flavours of creamer. The dining area was so cosy and it felt like having breakfast at home while watching TV. The lady working in the kitchen was incredibly kind and showed me how to use the waffle machine.
All the staff were friendly and genuinely helpful. One day, I was completely snowed in and without even asking, a staff member came outside and helped shovel my car out of the snow, a small gesture that made a big impact.
As someone visiting the Upper Peninsula for the first time in the winter, I was nervous, but this hotel made me feel so comfortable and safe. I’ve stayed in a wide range of hotels throughout Michigan — from major chains to smaller, family-run spots — and this was hands down the best experience I’ve had. The location is ideal, right in the heart of Marquette, and everyone I interacted with was warm, welcoming, and happy to help.
While there’s no daily room service or maid service, I honestly didn’t mind at all. Each floor has laundry facilities and bins, and the front desk is happy to provide Tide pods if you need them.
If I ever find myself back in the area, I’ll be staying here again without a second thought and I’ll be recommending it to anyone visiting Marquette. Affordable, clean, safe, and filled with heart, this hotel truly made my trip...
Read moreI’ve stayed here about 4 times and would say they’re very nice hotel. Everything has been very clean, I’ve stayed in the king size room, the queen sized, and the king size with the sofa. Everytime I’ve stayed a young man is working the desk. But, the last time I stayed it was a women and she was a bit rude, she grabbed the pens in the dirty cup and put it into the clean cup right in front of us. When we found out we were on the first floor and we’ve always stayed in the third we asked kindly as the last time he upgraded our room which was extremely kind. She laughed and said no when we asked. When getting to the room it was super loud from outside cars because we were right by the road and the parking lot. We later asked the man if we could get a different room when he showed and he was more than willingly to move us up a floor. Some of the rooms have some light damage but everything in the rooms are nice. They have a free breakfast that provides a lot of ready to eat food but not a lot of hot food but is still nice. The rates are really low during the winter too, compared to any other hotels it’s one of the lowest and very friendly. I will say most of the hotels in Marquette are in the west side of Marquette and this one is downtown and very walking friendly with shops a block away and...
Read moreOkay let's talk about this hotel! This hotel utilizes their space so efficiently! The breakfast has many different options! They have coconut shavings, dried cherries, nuts, etc just for their yogurt! They have this cool pancake maker that automatically makes pancakes with a push of the button and you get to watch! The kids will love it! They have muffins, donuts, huge croissants, hot oatmeal, cereal, etc. They even offer take out boxes for the breakfast!
The staff is friendly and helpful. They have many opportunities within the hotel for guests to receive any additional assistance or supplies! One thing I absolutely loved is the text line! I hate phone calls! I loved that I was able to send in a late check out request via text and got an immediate response.
One thing I would love to remind the guests that stay here is this is definitely a hotel that puts their money into improving their site to offer more convenience for their guests. Tips are always appreciated as a worker in the customer service/ service industry. The breakfast has a tip box and it never hurts to leave a small thank you for the people cleaning the room...
