Pastrami Joe’s is a deli in downtown Marshall, Michigan, that is just off of the main thoroughfare. It was a nice summer day and there were people enjoying lunch at the sidewalk tables outside of the restaurant. Inside the restaurant, there is a small dining room and a counter where they will take your order at the cash register.
After ordering we just had time to fill our drink cups and find a table before the order arrived. I was amazed to get our Reubens in 6 minutes. This place knows how to prepare a sandwich quickly!
The Reuben arrived on a colorful green-and-white checkerboard paper and it really stood out. The first thing that I noticed when tasting it was that the bread tasted like it had been toasted perhaps before it was grilled. The type of crunch elicited by my first bite definitely seemed more of the “toast” type of crunch than I was used to. But that was probably good, because by the time I got to the second half of my sandwich, that bottom slice of rye had gotten rather soggy.
The Russian dressing had a little bit of a sweet flavor, which mixed well with the tangy sauerkraut. The sauerkraut was quite plentiful. I was able to taste the slice of Swiss cheese and it was delicious and subtle. The corned beef was sliced thin and piled nicely into the sandwich with a light and beefy flavor.
Overall the Reuben was delicious. It was a little drippy and required napkin usage, but it wasn't too messy. I would definitely order another Reuben from Pastrami Joe’s if I am back in Marshall. Maybe not right away, but I did finally figure out that “PJ’s Reuben” didn’t refer to a Reuben that one would eat in one’s pajamas—it is obviously a reference to Pastrami...
Read moreI gave you a five because I don’t wanna mess up your score. Based on a silly little breakfast sandwich. I was asked if I wanted it on a Biscuit or I think three types of bread I chose the biscuit. I would’ve rather that you took your time. I wasn’t in a hurry because obviously the sandwich was microwaved. The biscuit had a lot of good flavor and the sandwich was OK except by the time I pulled into a parking spot it started to eat at the biscuit was Her is a rock from Microwaving it. You can cook an egg that way usually turns out fluff But you can’t cook bread in the microwave for whatever amount of time you did it And if I’m wrong, then I do apologize, but the biscuit was Hard In spots. Just a little advice it’s really a lot easier, especially since breakfast sandwiches are so easy Little time and making it as nice as possible. If you’re wondering why your breakfast business isn’t very good That might be the reason. I hear your sandwiches are green so I hope you’ll take a little bit of just a heart and make sure that breakfast sandwiches as good as sandwiches that you Serve at lunchtime. Read moreI recently visited Pastrami Joe's, a local deli known for their delicious sandwiches and pastrami. While the food was fantastic, I was disappointed with the portion sizes and prices.
The sandwiches themselves were flavorful and delicious, and the ingredients were fresh and high-quality. However, the portion sizes were quite small for the price, and I left feeling like I had spent a lot of money for not a lot of food.
Additionally, some of the prices seemed a bit steep for what you were getting. While I understand that high-quality ingredients come at a cost, I felt like some of the prices were a bit too high for the portion sizes.
That being said, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere of the deli was cozy and welcoming. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the service was prompt and efficient.
Overall, while I enjoyed the food at Pastrami Joe's, I was disappointed with the small portion sizes and high prices. If you're looking for a tasty sandwich and don't mind paying a premium, it's worth checking out. However, if you're on a budget or looking for a more substantial meal, you may want to...
