Great pizza establishment in Marshalltown that has been around for decades. Service was fast and friendly. The waiter or waitress leaves a small placard with their name, and our waiter (Tim) checked back often. We had the cheese bread as an appetizer...soft hot pizza dough with a garlic butter sauce and provolone cheese. It was delicious and the perfect start to the meal. My wife and I did a half all veggie, BBQ brisket pizza. The veggie side was loaded with fresh veggies and (despite my best intentions to not try it) was very good. The BBQ brisket side was excellent...i was afraid the sauce base would be BBQ, thus making the BBQ too overwhelming. The sauce was Zeno's delicious red italian puzza sauce, and the BBQ was a sirracha BBQ that was drizzled on top. Perfect combination in my opinion, and it was great. I think the brisket (thin sliced) was pre-packaged...I am not sure so if that is important to you, be sure to ask. It was good nonetheless. The pizza crust and sauce though...that made the pizza. The crust was thin and crispy the whole way through, and the pizza sauce was applied generously, but not so much that the toppings slide off. Great experience all around. My wife and I got a medium pizza and between it and the cheese bread we had leftovers. Atmosphere was old-timey but really clean. The wooden booths looked like something out of an old restaurant, but were pretty cool. Would recommend this to anyone (look up the hours, they are only open for dinner).

Food was ok. The service was lacking to say the least.. It seems our group of 9 was an inconvenience for our server. He wouldn’t give us another Parmesan cheese shaker, saying all he had was on the table. There were 4 other empty tables that had Parmesan cheese, so I just grabbed another one. He did the bare minimum. I was told I couldn’t sit at the end of the able because it was fire hazard. Yet there was no emergency exit close to us.

Service was fast, efficient and cordial. I had the Zeno's Special pizza and it was outstanding. The crust was perfect, not too hard and not to chewy. The ingredients were fresh and you could taste all the individual vegetables and meat distinctly. The prices were comparable to national pizza chain restaurants and the pizza came out quickly.

What a horrible experience for a former honorable establishment. The service was performed by TIM and was absolutely non-existent. He never greeted us, and when he arrived at the table, he said we would have to wait because there is a larger party ahead of us. At least take a drink order, we have been seated. Half-hour later he returned for drink orders. We ordered. The pizza took 75 miniutes and we only had 2. It tasted awful. Not the same it used to be. The crust was sour and the sauce very bland! What happened to the Zenos we knew. Upon check out, we did make the cashier, who says she was the manager, aware of the experience. No apologies, no comps, nothing! Basically said she could do nothing about it and that's it! Whoa! Really? The former owners would have never allowed this! Not even close. From a Marshalltown native, it is very saddening to have this experience from a once glorified...

My wife and I had a meal here a couple of weeks ago. The food was well prepared and tasty. The staff was friendly. We were seated in a large room at a table that would seat about 8 people even though there were only 2 of us. We asked about a booth in a room we had just walked thru and we were told it was cleaned and shutdown for the day since things were slow (few customers at that time). So the ambiance was like being in a large cafeteria instead of the intimate setting which was available in the adjacent room. The pizza prices were much higher than almost all the other pizza places in town and other towns I have traveled to. This is a local favorite and I have had great meals here before with good friends. I live in the area and I will be back again sometime, however it...
