A few years back I loved this place and would have recommended it over El Mezcal, but it's been steadily declining every visit for the past year and a half or so. They are drastically over-charging, their pricing is all over the place between the receipt and menu, and the staff are either incompetent or uncaring. $2.95 for a taco? Fine, but it had better be a damn good taco. Well, it wasn't. I ordered four different tacos and I honestly wouldn't have been able to name them by taste, as they were all dry as a bone and bland. It's clear their ingredients are now subpar to go along with their price hikes. The street corn was disgusting. A cup of lukewarm, watery canned corn with a spoonful of sour cream and a sprinkling of cheese and spice is not authentic. It's cheap, unappetizing, and insulting. If there was any tequila in the $10 margarita, I couldn't detect that by taste, either. Tasted like a big snow cone. Im not sure how this restaurant continues to bring in such good reviews, I overheard two messed up orders while we were there and the staff didn't seem at all surprised by the mess-ups or by the fact that I wasn't impressed with the cold corn cup. Marshfield, this is not good Mexican and definitely not worth the price. They are ripping you off. Anyway, to each their own, this visit was the last chance they're getting from me. Hope you die-hards have better luck...
Read moreTo see such a high rating is unreal. I'm very unimpressed with this place. I went in to try it out because the rating was decent. It didnt take long for me to regret that decision. I ordered my meal, a taco salad and specified No Cheese and informed the waitress i have an allergy. She responds it doesnt come with cheese anyways. I Waited for a half hour at least until it came out and from the top it all looked fine so i put salsa on it. Once i move the lettuce around i realize theres a huge layer of cheese under it so i call the waitress over and tell her i cant eat it. She then asks if she wanted me to have her pick it out. I responded no i would like a new one because i can not risk the cheese. She takes it away and is gone 5 or so minutes. She then returns with a taco salad. Rather quickly in comparison to the wait before hand. She sets the taco sald in front of me and i didnt even hace to inspect it because the top was covered in the salsa i used on it and tge cheese i didwas clearly visible (she must hace missed some) so i thanked her asked for my bill minus the taco salad paid and left. I whole heartedly think they deserve the lowest rating. And im mad that i tipped the waitress after thinking about it. Live and learn i suppose. Avoid this place if you hace an allergy, or want your food the way you order it. Also. The service...
Read moreI tried this place last Sunday while I am here for work. The food was so good that I went back on Thursday to get the same meal. The food appears to all be authentic Mexican, not Americanized Mexican. It makes sense that some people are unhappy because they are probably wanting Americanized food. To me, the food exceeded my expectations. Coming from an area with a lot of authentic Mexican food, I consider my expectations to be pretty high. As a general rule, the place needs to be run by people who truly know the cuisine and I want to see customers from that ethnicity eating there. This place was it. To make it even better, there was no wait for a table on Sunday and the service was fast. On Thursday, Rosa took my order and had my meal waiting for me to pick it up by time I drove across town. I couldn’t ask for better food or service. The next time I am in Marshfield, I will...
