Hanabi Sushi — Restaurant in Martinez

We have been here many times because it is so close to us. I am very polite every time and speak my order clearly.

In the past, every single time they have gotten something wrong. No tempura sauce, they forget to take a topping off I requested off, just random frustrating stuff.

But today was the last straw. They watered down their tempura sauce, like it has almost no flavor and looks like lightly brown water. We know what it’s supposed to taste like.

The crunchy flakes on top of my roll were stale. They weren’t crunchy, they were chewy.

The shrimp tempura in my roll and my wife’s roll were stale. It was not normal, almost like it was store bought pre-cooked.

The entire box of vegetable tempura we had was stale and soggy, like it was cooked 2 hours earlier.

I picked up my order exactly at the time they told me it would be ready, drove home 5 minutes and ate it, so it’s not like it was sitting for a long time.

We will be looking for another sushi place around here, and I wish Hanabi the best and I hope they get their act together. I know this is a hard time for restaurants but you don’t serve sub-par...

I did not eat at this establishment and discourage everyone else from eating here. My partner and I visited Hanabi Sushi, after noting its high reviews, but we were discriminated against and essentially refused service. We walked in and the server did not seat us, tossed the menus on a table five feet away from us, and walked off. Initially, we expected that they was frustrated as they had just opened, so we grabbed a table. The server did not return to our table. An older white couple walked in after about fifteen minutes of us waiting. They were verbally greeted, seated, had their menus set on the table once it was selected and were promptly brought water. About five minutes later, the server returned and took their order. We noticed the discriminate service and immediately left. It was clear that the staff did not want to serve us and we no longer wanted to offer our business. Although, I did not try the food, I am writing this review because the staff's behavior at Hanabi was blatantly racist and abhorrent. I hope others reconsider bringing...

I first inquired if the Donburi with chicken was prepared with Chicken breast meat. The wait person stated yes.

When the Donburi was placed upon the table. It was prepared with Thigh meat. When the question was raised regarding the thigh meet. This writer was told "That thigh meat is all we use here".

This writer stated to the wait person. I was told that this item is prepared with Breast meat, otherwise I would have not ordered it.

In turn, this writer stated I don't want this item and take it away. The wait person simply walked away, leaving the Donburi on the table.

I finished my appetizer of pot stickers. Which was tasty.

After 10 minutes. The Donburi sat on the table, untouched. Now, I demand that the Donburi be removed and in turn. Removed from the bill.

I don't intend to return here. Especially in the light of inquiring, if the food item is prepared in the way you want and provided with something different. Then said item being left on the table. After I refused said item. Was rather insulting to...
