The UPS Store — Local services in Martinez

I’ve been coming to this UPS location for the past 3 years, usually in the mornings before 9:30. And honestly? The experience is consistently rough. The staff (especially morning shifts) are ridiculously rude and based on other recent reviews, it’s clearly not just me noticing this.

I don’t go in asking for anything complicated; usually just a quick print of something I emailed the night before or help shipping a USPS package. Nothing major. But I’m almost always met with attitude, short tones, and an overall feeling like I’m inconveniencing them by existing. I've even waited in line with only 4 people ahead of me and still somehow lost 20+ minutes, just to reach a register and be treated rudely for no reason.

So why the 3 stars instead of 1? Because this morning I was helped by Robert, and he was an absolute standout. If he’s not already a supervisor or manager, he should be. He was kind without being condescending, explained things clearly without me needing to ask, and treated me like a human being. He was patient, knowledgeable, and efficient — and somehow did all that without slowing down the line.

If I walk in and see Robert behind the counter, I’ll stay. But if it’s anyone else? I’ll burn the extra gas and head out to the Clayton & Treat location, because Julie, the manager there, gets things done fast,...

I was finally in touch with the manager and owner of this ups store. After everything was sorted out. Said and Done they were kind enough to refund me my shipping cost after all this time due to unforeseen circumstances. Way to turn it around. They did turn it around and I believe you will find this store suitable for your shipping needs.

Worst place to ever. I sent a next day letter and it didn’t go out at the end of day. So it was delayed 2 days when I asked about my refund which I was guaranteed the manager said she was looking into it and I’d get it back. Fast forward a year later the manager says she still working on it but hides in the back when I come into the store and won’t return my call when they say they get back to me. I went in today to ask a notary question, because I had already went to the county recorders office and the notary, Robert, proceeded to chit-chat and talk about personal things with the customer in front of me. Therefore, I went next door to check on my pizza and when I came back, he was in the back gossiping with another employee and wouldn't come out to help. The woman working came out and called him, because now there were two of us, but he proceeded to pretend like he was busy in the back. After 10 minutes of this nonsense, I left.
