Taqueria Extra — Restaurant in Martinez

I've been coming to this place since before Covid hit. And when I tell you that it was the best Mexican place near me. It really was. It's so good that I would get it almost weekly! (Don't judge me! Lol) Unfortunately, with prices going up has really made it just ok. I bought 1 regular burrito, some nachos, & tacos. The nachos were ok. Not the best but not terrible, tacos were ok too. The only thing is the burritos. I don't like a ton of rice in mine nor do I want my food swimming in beans. (To be fair, I did ask for a small amount of beans) but that's only because last time which was a few months ago, I got one with just beans & meat and there was were a few specks of meat in it. So basically a bean burrito with a drizzle of meat. Now while I understand things are expensive, when I pay $12 for a regular burritos I would like some MEAT in it! This burrito was small and this time it barely had beans. And still a small amount of meat. Idk if it's just me but 12 for a little rice, a drizzle of beat, and a half a cup of meat. Seems excessive. I think maybe I'll try going into the store next time and eating there. Maybe my rating will go up. But for now, really sad this place has gone down in...

Came here for dinner last night. I had the nachos and split it with my son. We got super nachos, chicken, hold the jalapeños. My husband got a burrito meal. Chicken, black beans, yes to the chips. The salsas were pretty bland. The mild was the only good one. The tomatillo had no flavor and the "hot" had no flavor and no kick. The chicken, grilled, was amazing but that was about the only thing that was. The nachos were God but they weren't particularly spectacular nor were they filling which is a shock. We couldn't finish them solely due to a fruit fly walking all over them. Had it just landed and flown away it would have been fine. I would've just removed the part it touched, but no it walked on everything so I pushed it to the side. The door was open next to the counter/kitchen and generally if it's Fruit flies, then there's a fruit fly problem. They spawn quickly. My husband's burrito was... okay. He said he would have rather had Chipotle and that says a lot considering he's a chef. He says it wasn't filling and just bland. The people working were nice, the restaurant was spacious as it used to be a Country Waffles, but the food...

I ordered a super carnitas burrito and I did it online and prepaid for everything because I heard that it gets really busy there at lunch time, the text said that it would be ready in 15 minutes. People we're coming in and out of that place it was crazy there were like 15 people in front of me when I came in. I walked up to the register and told the girl that I was there for pickup and she turned around and found my burrito I paid for it and was happy that I didn't have to wait in that line. Now I know why there were so many people there and why it was so busy ....their food is so delicious the burrito was huge and just stuffed with everything that I asked for.. I was only able to eat half of it because it was so huge but now I have something else to eat for lunch tomorrow🙂...but I highly recommend it and I also recommend if you can order it in advance and pay for it in advance it would be...
