As I have a yen for one particular soup, Won-ton, I've ordered it all around town, excepting in the buffet restaurants...I ask to get the tureen refilled (with won-tons this time please) and start my meal with a bowlful. Only once did I receive a portion that was actually disappointing and it was likely just an off-day. Point in fact, despite the wide range of okay to really quite good, I like it so much that I never thought I'd have reason...up or down, to write a review about it. This evening my wife went to China King Restaurant and made it a point to let me know that it was my sweet daughter , 'O' , that 'bugged her into getting me 'my' soup as a take out treat . She told me that the woman behind the counter was the "nicest person " as an aside, and that everything was nice and clean, smelled great and the soup was the least expensive that she's ever gotten ! With all this praise I was almost afraid to try the soup. The container was so hot that I thought the broth would be boiling...there were so many won-tons I was sure that my dear woman payed for extras, and with nothing to complain about, I opened the crackles / noodles that comes with it expecting a tasty oily treat. Well, the crackles were the crunchiest oil-free tasty 'noodles I've had the joy to eat. The freshly made broth was richly flavored and lo and behold, the won-tons were large, creamy smooth with a perfect bite (cut them first and save the roof of your mouth) and inside each one was a generous meaty filling. Despite the fact I wan't able to complain at all and having to listen to my wife go on about what a 'better' place it was than many...it had the saving grace of offering the absolutely best won-ton soup I've had in decades. When I take my wife out to Chinese next month, there's no guesswork involved in where I am going to take her. We'll get our standards and I'll be able to rate and review at least a half dozen items. All for you ..out there reading...
Read moreLet me say that every establishment can have a bad day! I have preferred this restaurant over many others since I moved here approximately 5 years ago. This is my go to place! Even during the pandemic and my totals are always over $50 and that's before tax and delivery fees. OK with that said, I ordered food today and it was the worst! burnt noodles, I asked for little to no onions but got almost 1/2 carton full. Disappointed would be putting it mildly. The CUSTOMER The SERVICE was deplorable! The woman that answered my call actually called me a liar! I told her I had pictures, she told me that I had more than 4 shrimp and to her credit, after I dug through the pile of onions and burnt noodles I did find 6 more, but I let you be the judge, I took pictures. The employee told me to call the manager the next day and hung up the phone. I wasn't yelling, I just wanted reorder my food but make them aware. After my brief conversation with her (which included her talking to another employee about how long they have been in business) our call was disconnected. All I can say is this: The proof is in the pudding, look at my pictures and look at the website at a picture of the shrimp lo mien and you be the judge. A good relationship gone bad in...
Read moreI'm writing this after my fourth time ordering from here. All four times were really great experiences so I just had to write a good review for them. I LOVE their veggie lo mein - they add tons of broccoli, snow peas, mushrooms, cabbage, carrots.. sometimes even baby corn! Another thing I love is their steamed/fried dumplings.. the dipping sauce is perfect, nice and sweet/savory!
They're always open long hours, and make every effort to offer quick, professional service. I just moved to the area and this will be the only Chinese takeout I order from now on. Tonight I went in to pick up my large (over-stuffed box!) lo mein and my boyfriend's general tso's and it was a little over $17.. I gave a young-ish girl a $20 and told her to keep the change, she was so polite about it! She gave me a stuffed bag of those sugar/dough treats for free!
Some members of the family were there, and kids were playing games on phones and stuff.. they look like a great, hard-working family! So congrats to them, they're doing a great job in my opinion and I'd recommend you order from them. Great portions, polite service, and real (not overly processed) food offered....
