When the great GODS of chicken deliberated on establishing a monumental restaurant, SGT Peppers chicken was summoned. We have had wonderful leaders in our military over the years who have won many battles, but their work and accomplishments will never equal the hard fight that SGT Peppers takes to our enemy; hunger. The smell of chicken grease, mashed potatoes, and victory will flood your body like an ocean. The sweet tea is imported from some of the deepest parts of the southern states. Your taste buds will hate you after your first visit here due to the uncanny taste that can't be achieved in any other corner of the world. The floors are tiled in solid gold, and the sounds of angels singing will smother your ears when you enter the building. The meat is 100% free range chickens. SGT Peppers have kept the same bloodline of healthy, 6 foot, Russian chickens for over 300 years. The potatoes come from the deep fields from Idaho. They are shipped and handled by horseback for protection reasons. The prices are absolutely unreal. They do not charge enough for this gift from the chicken gods. I honestly would pay 500% more, and wouldn't lose a second of sleep over. Honestly, I'd probably sleep better knowing I didn't rip someone off today...
Read moreThis might be my favorite chicken spot, and its almost 2 hrs from home! Dont let my 4 stars for food fool you, its quite good - explanation below. For the price, you get big lightly breaded tenders. I'm a spicy guy, and the spicy tenders are awesome - a slow building heat thats approachable but makes your nose run. They fry spicy fresh, so ~7 minute wait. The fried potatoes are good if thats your thing, for me it isn't really - some are crunchy and some are flaccid, a few times ive had them and they were not as hot as my freshly fried tenders. Theyre kinda like thick cut home chips. The loaded potatoes are pretty good, but same problem - sometimes theyre a touch cool. Mac and cheese is good, sweet tea is good (havent had any musty taste issue here, which is sadly more common than you'd think.) Ive tried 1 piece of normal fried chicken (a leg), it was good, but tenders were better. Because these big tenders are large chunks of breast meat, they do have the tendon, which often presents as a chewy/tough bite. I expect this from real chicken, so i just spit that part out. The tendon chewiness and the cool potatoes are what led me to 4 star the food. Even so, I go here every...
Read moreJust went here again! I drove 30 miles to get there, and will do it again soon. They have a spice mixture used for their menu items that is their own private mixture they've used since they opened. Seems like one of the ladies told me it had been 46 years ago. I absolutely LOVE the fried cauliflower. Had to order two orders because one never makes it home. Serving size is huge and I have to make myself stop. Glad I got two orders! I also got a couple chicken legs. I had the chicken tenders/strips once when I went and they cost a little more but they are huge and well worth the price. I really hope you are able to try Sgt Pepper's, it's worth the drive for me, and if you like fried chicken or mushrooms, cauliflower, and a host of other great food, find Sgt. Pepper's!! (The photo is one order of the cauliflower)
The folks that work there are the nicest people! Busy or not, they take time to make sure you're happy with your order. Very down to earth people!
This following was from my first visit - If you've never had Sgt. Pepper's Chicken, you are missing out on some of the best chicken and other menu items on the planet. BEST breading and flavoring on all...
