Urban Brew Coffee — Restaurant in Martinsville

Genuinely one of my favorite places ever. I’ve been coming here since they have opened and love it so much. They have the main area which has the seating bar as well as their play place for kids, but if you go through the doors, they have what’s called their “quit room.” When I was in college, I would get a coffee and study in the quit room and it was such a vibe. People would still come into the quit room, but if they see you working they stay quit and everyone is always respectful. This place is where I planned most of my wedding, where I starter the base of my small farm business and where I did my school work. There are no words to describe how much I love this place, but trust me it’s freaking amazing. Their coffee is top tier with so many options and unique flavors. They also have loads of non coffee drinks for those who aren’t coffee snobs like me. They make their own special called a “Croffle” which is a croissant waffle sandwhich and is to die for. They have so many different topping combos that you’re bound to find one you like. If you are traveling through Martinsville or like locally I fully recommend you come here!

Urban Brew Coffee and Playhouse is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of the Martinsville. First and foremost, the coffee here is exceptional and the baristas are friendly and skilled. But what truly sets Urban Brew apart is its unique concept of combining a coffee shop with a play area. Access to the play area is through paid timed sessions, which I found to be a great system. It ensures that the play area remains well-maintained and allows for a fair rotation of children, preventing overcrowding and ensuring everyone gets a chance to enjoy the space.

They’ve been advertising a GF croffle for months now and every time I go in I’m told they’re out. This time when I expressed disappointment they told me they never actually had it and all they had for me was a bagel. So I ordered a latte and bagel, but only because I had gone out of my way and needed to eat something. They burned the coffee and the bagel was terrible. Also just because I’m upset about something not actually existing on the menu does not mean I’m being mean. I wanted my money back but I was too scared of offending the overly sensitive cashier. So I ate the cost and am leaving a review instead but I’m definitely not...
