Phantom Tacos — Restaurant in Mary Esther

Would have placed and order on DoorDash but didn’t because I was literally 2 minutes away and had questions about the menu. I got there at 7:30. Got there, there were two women in the window. The older one looked at me, said something to the younger one and walked away. When the younger woman opened the window, she asked me if I was picking up to which I stated I was placing an order. She then told me they were closed despite Google and DoorDash saying otherwise. At this point it’s impossible to support these little business because they’re often rude and lack service. I’ll just stick to my regular taco joints atp because for sure I’m not spending money at any place mine isn’t good enough for during business hours. *edit since the owner likes to make up stuff about what I asked * You clearly don’t remember me because I came with my husband and again didn’t even place an order because again I was asked if I was picking up and stayed “no I’d like to place an order to go.” To which your younger staff member said y’all are closed despite me explaining to her that DoorDash and Google still had y’all as open. Because again I came at 7:30. Not to mention I wasn’t even there for birria, I was there for the phantom fries. Never said anyone was rude but now that I know yall will lie to save a measly little 1 star review I will be reporting this business to the BBB and on the rest of yall service...

Was super excited to see a birria place in town. Tried it out today and was pretty disappointed. Food took about 35 minutes from ordering time. Turns out they had a food photographer show up and they prioritized making food for photos over paying customers at 1pm. Would have been nice for the owner to give us a warning food would take so long. Ordered a side of consume for an extra $2 and didn't receive it. Didn't bother going up because the woman taking orders was pretty rude. She shoved the food out the window as if we were bothering her. Food was pretty slapped together and they didn't have spoons for birria ramen. Flavors were decent. The chicken was a little dry and the birria was 4/5 stars. Let me start out by saying I love both Mexican food and many various food trucks in the area. This establishment took almost 15 minutes to complete an order of 5 tacos when i was the only customer in line. Unlike other food trucks in Fort Walton, there are no seats or tables to conveniently enjoy your food at after ordering. The carne asada tacos were too salty and the steak had more of a pot-roasted taste/texture rather than a grilled feeling (which is what I prefer more) and there was a lot of fat connected to the steak. Alone, the steak was not too good and had an overwhelming/very salty flavor, but together with all the ingredients for the taco, it was alright.
