I decided to give Allison's Restaurant a try. It was on Saturday when the restaurant opened and the Server was pleasant. We were seated right away. The atmosphere was nice and very clean. I was expecting more when the bread came out as it was four small slices of cornbread. When I looked at the reviews it had cornbread and garlic bread. I asked the server and she said they only give the cornbread. The pictures in the reviews must've been old. I asked for water and and a mixed drink. The margarita drink had too much mixer and ice. Had a side salad. The lettuce romaine had much brown and very little tomato. The main dishes were penne pasta with Shrimp and sausage. That meal was very tasty 😋. The other meal linguine and bacon with crabmeat. I asked the server was the crabmeat lump and she said yes. Well, I can tell you it was a whole lot of bacon and the crabmeat was not lump or fresh. I didn't want to complain because when you ate the pasta, it was so flavorful. Im not a bacon eater and the balls of crabmeat kept falling off my fork. I then pick up one to try it. It was not fresh. I think the restaurant is a good place for pasta. I will never try seafood or salad there again. The place got very crowded and we just paid the check and left. It was only a...
Read moreWent there on a Friday night at 7 PM. Admittedly the busiest time of week for a restaurant. The food got mixed reviews. I loved the lasagna, but my wife had the crab cakes and thought they might have been better for the price. The problem we had was with the service. Our waiter was also tending the bar and covering 3 tables in the bar area. He tried, but did not succeed. He was slow taking our order (a couple adjacent to our table sat after us, ordered, got their food, and were nearly finished before we received our food). Then it took 30 minutes for our food to come. Then, when I requested a drink refill, he forgot us because he had to take care of the bar. Each time he apologized, but if a waiter has to apologize three times in the course of one visit: epic fail. I count this as a management failure. I don't understand why the waiter serving the bar, and bar tables was assigned a table in the main restaurant. Poor management. I still give it a 4/5 because my lasagna was excellent, but if you go in and it's...
Read moreHands down the best spot in Crofton for good food. I'm irregular and I'm a bit addicted to the chicken limone but every time I try something new I'm impressed as well for example the fried green tomatoes tonight, finally a proper order of fried green tomatoes presented beautifully and tasted absolutely delicious. I'm left wondering what all these other fancy restaurants are doing with their chefs. For example I went to the Severn Inn the other day with my niece and had quite possibly the worst Fried Green Tomatoes I've ever had poorly prepared poorly presented a god-awful sauce in a really tacky plastic clear to go ramekin, but let's stick to Allison's I absolutely recommend the chicken limone but also the mushroom ravioli and the pork loin chops if you can get them. The owner is the Chef and he sources locally...
