Blue Point Crab House — Restaurant in Maryland

If I could give this place no stars, I certainly would. Went with a friend to grab lunch today, 10/6/20. There was one other person ahead of us, so it was only 3 customers. There was a lady employee who came from the back, but continued to talk to her coworker for an additional 3 minutes and not acknowledge that customers were waiting. She (employee) was complaining of only a few coworkers showing up to work today, to her other colleague, for all to hear. After an additional 2 minutes, she finally acknowledged the customer ahead of us who was inquiring about crabcakes. Once his order was complete, she (employee) then starts talking to the coworker AGAIN about how upset she is about no one showing up to work, for all to hear, which really seemed to distract her because she was so focused on being upset and stopped a couple of times to express her grief continuously to her colleague. After all of this was going on, I decided to leave, but my friend stayed to grab lunch. Approximately 2 minutes later, he informed me that the conversation became irate with coworkers to the point that they begin to yell at each other about people not showing up for work in front of other customers who came in the establishment. He then left and could hear the employees yelling in the establishment while he was inside his car. He then informed me that he did not feel comfortable with an angry employee cooking his food. The establishment was warm and smelled of rotting seafood as well, so I am GLAD to not have spent any money here, and will not ever. Very unprofessional to...

I was greeted immediately, but the young lady at the register didn't know anything about the food. Each time I asked her about something, the response was "I don't know" while shrugging her shoulders. She didn't know the prices either, and didn't call to anyone to find out. Everybody in there was so busy chatting with one another that no one tried to sell me anything. I did buy several things, and none of it was memorable. My lump crabcake didn't look or taste like lump crabcake after it was broiled. My carrot cake cheesecake lacked flavor too. The cheesecake portion was too rich, like margarine, with a margarine after taste. She forgot to give me a copy of my receipt and when I asked a second time for a copy, the 2nd young lady who came up front to help, rolled her eyes, handed me the receipt with the total (not a detailed receipt that shows the cost of each item) and sat back down behind the counter looking at her cellphone. I had to ask for silverware with my takeout order. I was not given any napkins. I was told that cocktail sauce is an additional .50 cents, so I passed. I have never had to pay for cocktail sauce when I order seafood. They do offer a comfortable bench for customers to sit and wait, but there aren't any tables to dine-in. This store has me to the POINT of no return….to any other places 😝. I love love love coming here. If you’re just as critical and picky as I can be this is the place for you. I won’t get my crabs ANYWHERE else. They are heavy, seasoned well, and always come out hot 🔥. Never have I ever been disappointed. Even if I happen to get a not so succulent crab or two (because nothing is perfect) I simply bring them back to the store and they will readily replace them. 🦀 I’m always impressed with the customer service and efficient work they do to get everyone’s orders out, even on their busiest days. Which is why I make it easier on everyone and call ahead to let them know when I’ll be on my way! 📞 🚘 Not only am I gruntled with the customer service and crab quality I also take advantage of the weekly specials and prepped/hot food they have to offer. Especially in the fall I enjoy entertaining every Sunday for the Ravens games with my friends and family, and the weekend 3lb shrimp special is a must have for the food table 🦐. There is no doubt I could easily go on about my satisfaction I’ve had for years at Blue Point. They have been apart the community for a long time and being a local I love to see family owned businesses thriving in this small town. As long as I live here I’ll always get my seafood from...
