5 stars because of Service, Pastry Quality, Atmosphere, and ease of parking. I popped in around 8:30 AM on a Thursday morning in March 2023 and found they were just loading the freshly baked pastries into the display case. I was told by counter staff that 8:30 AM is when they stock the case each day. I ordered 2 each of the following: Moulin Rouge, Raspberry Macaron, Paris Breast, Mont Blanc, and Fruit Tarts. None were overly sweet, but just sweet enough. I'd say the most saccharin was the Mont Blanc, followed by the Paris Breast. The rest could be something easily consumed after a meal with some coffee. All the pastries were quite huge (note the photo with the hand for perspective). If you have just finished a meal, you could possibly only eat 1/4 to a half of one of these pastries. As it was, I had them with my coffee in place of breakfast, and after the plate of a small slice of each (see photo), I was quite full! Customer service: while I was on the phone sorting out what our family wanted to get (which took longer than it should have, LOL), I had plenty of time to eavesdrop on the consistently kind and happy customer service offered to each person as they walked in. Service was friendly and efficient. For a little authentic atmosphere, I could hear the kitchen staff and counter staff chatter in French (love it!). The dining area is small but clean and welcoming. Parking was no issue at this Cabin John Shopping Center location on Seven Locks Road, but that could be the timing of my visit at 8:30 AM on a Thursday. This shopping center can get quite full, and parking becomes quite a chore at lunch and dinner hours.

Super cute place. From the shop itself to the warm and personable staff and owners this place is a delight. I happened upon this charming business on accident and boy was I impressed and pleased to have had the chance. The shop is not huge but has a big presence and comfortable vibe. Upon driving up there is ample parking in the lot in front, a nice outdoor seating area and a clean design. Once you enter it can be a bit new and taking in the display of beautiful and fresh baked goods 🥐 can be an overwhelming joy. The sweet case is on your left and the savory and breads directly in front where the line forms. Initially I wasn't sure where to stand as I wanted to try a pastry, but was delighted to find that the customer and staff vibe very flexible in that everyone flows together in a kind and efficient manner. I ended up grabbing an assortment of items to try (partial bribe for a couple buddies helping me) and can say that each item was well received and enjoyed, particularly the large raspberry macaron 🍪 and the opera cake 🍰, and the friend getting the millefeuille (forgive my spelling) was overjoyed to have a real slice of this confection as they are difficult to locate. Can't say enough about this place, the vibe, the quality for price, the staff and the flavor, this place will be a new favorite and I'll be back to sample savory 🍞 items soon.

Opening of this Boulangerie is like having Mary Poppins pop into your neighborhood! It is the ultimate joy of experiencing French Bakery than no other! This neighborhood has been thirsty for a bakery like this for a long time! On top of having the most delicious and perfectly baked pastries and cakes, breads and freshly made sandwiches and soups, fresh juices and coffees, their staff is extremely cordial, warm and kind and well versed in the rather long menu! The place is spotlessly clean (of course it is new) and has a joyful warm and inviting vibe! Ample sitting in the patio as well as some inside. Don't be surprised if you get addicted to Boulangerie Christophe in Potomac! Many thanks to the owners and management of this company to bring such a charming patisserie here! Yes, the prices are a bit steep but so is the satisfaction in every bite of every item they make! Hope this place stays here forever!! -Shubo Mukherjee

NOT RECOMMENDED - AWFUL SERVICE - ALLERGIES Nothing compared to the one in Georgetown The young lady taking my order looked like she HATED to help She NEVER smiled and gave me an attitude.. She was snarky She NEVER CONFIRMED / showed me my order before putting them in the box When I asked to see my order, she said “I already sealed it” and affirmed that she got all my order right Blindly trusting her, went home to gift those desserts to my niece for her birthday but when she opened it, she said she couldn’t eat any of it I asked why and she showed me, A piece of RASPBERRY CAKE..that I never order (I ordered a Mille-feuille) along with an eclair and chocolate tarte My niece is allergic to raspberry and that piece was stuck to the eclair and tarte… I was embarrassed and very upset as I was bragging to my niece with utter pride how wonderful the one on Georgetown was and it’s great that there’s one nearby… Couldn’t exchange it as I didn’t ask for a receipt (as I trusted the server and took her word for it) Hard lesson learnt.

GO TO THE GEORGETOWN BRANCH INSTEAD Great Service and very pleasant environment and experience

PS. I work in pr & marketing. Even when a client is being difficult, a smile will never leave our faces as we deal with them politely and respectfully. Also, what she did could possible amount to a law suit if my niece ingested those raspberries.. something to be very mindful about in making sure the...

I had been going to Georgetown location and loved it. When Potomac location opened, I had to come to try. Although all pastries and baked goods look wonderful, the place and staffs are still being organized to properly serve many customers. There were many people in the line to place their orders and there were two registers opened. There was no signage to form a line (or two in case each line to be served at each register). There were 3-5 people in one line by the product display case waiting to place their orders, one staff came to the other register and served the last person in line instead of the people who have been patiently waiting in the line. That secondary register must be there whenever additional staff becomes available. This particular staff member kept coming to serve her nearest customer who just came in when she has time. The customers who have been waiting in the line had to be ignored.

It would be wonderful if the staffs can respect the customers with a simple etiquette to serve fairly. When I brought it up to the particular staff member, she did not apologize. Instead, she said she did what she did because I was not decided what to order yet. 😰 how did she know that I was not decided???

She seems and sounds very friendly to all customers, but her service doesn’t come across the way she looks and sounds. Customer service staffs need to learn how to act fairly instead of...
