Cabin John Playground — Attraction in North Bethesda

Cabin John is an exceptional park. One section with a wide, circular walking path has a children's train that runs during spring through fall. This section also has restrooms that are closed during winter. This section, which is closest to the parking lot off of Westlake Drive also has a dog park area.

The other section on the other side of the parking lot, off of Tuckerman Lane, has a playground for children. This section also has restrooms that formerly were all closed during winter.

However, for the winter of 2021- 2022 we are thankful that the parks officials have kept one restroom open in this area Monday through Friday from 6am to 2:30pm.

Having an available restroom is a huge relief! Thanks again!

The entire CJ Park area is maintained in immaculate condition and for those who are more hearty, there is a trail that encircles the entire park.

This farther trail has gentle hills, passes a beautiful stream, and is a bit more rustic than the simple path in the section where th train is.

Finally, there is a path from the parking lot on Westlake Drive that goes directly to the Cabin John Ice Rink. Therefore, if the Cabin John Ice Rink parking lot is full, one could park at the CJ Park lot on Westlake and walk...

One of the best parks in the area! Although it's outside, its completely shaded with big mature trees so it's cooler on hot days and direct sun on little faces in greatly minimized. Plus, there are activities/apparatuses for different ages so siblings of all ages can be kept entertained. Did I mention they have real bathrooms and lots of parking!! It's easy to spend well over an hour there with out...

My Mother used to bring my brother and myself here years ago. How this park has changed. Love the fact that they still have the train up and running. They have spend some good 💰 to update the train 🚂; looks awesome. We'll worth $10 for two adults and two children. Park is very clean has plenty of benches and lots of shade.
