As many say, "three strikes and you're out."
Our visits have been during the evening, but differentiating shifts should not dictate the quality of service that you will receive; it's even more embarrassing to have to say this about a restaurant that is open for 24 hours, every single day. The service has been inexcusable for us (referring to me and my wife).
Strike 1: There was a reasonable line ahead of us during this visit, so complaining about the wait time would obviously be pedantic. However, the service was inexplicably slow -- we waited nearly half an hour just to receive our daughter's food, and she had appetizers in her order. My burger and my wife's wrap took just about another half an hour to get to us. While I was lucky enough to have a decently tasting burger (albeit, cooked over the temperature that I desired), my wife's wrap was disgusting and obviously cooked improperly. We were a bit understanding about the slow service in this instance because our server admitted that she was relatively new to weighting at this restaurant, so we let this slide.
Strike 2: I cannot even find a proper way to describe how slow this service was after labeling the first service as "inexplicable". Just getting to a table took forever. But we got one -- hey, it can't get any worse, right? How wrong we were. After getting our table, it took servers nearly 15 minutes just to get to us and ask us for our drinks. A number of other tables were seated after us and were asked for orders before we were; after even getting our order in, we had been nearly sitting down for almost an hour. After ordering, we waited a good 30 minutes just to receive our food -- we were incredibly close to walking out because of how long it took. The server never bothered to ask if we ever wanted a refill, or if our food was alright, or... anything that a server should be doing. If I knew the name of this server, I would very likely blast them and tell them that they should get a different job, because serving/hospitality is certainly not for them.
Strike 3: Just today, we intended on sitting down at Denny's for a quick meal after my wife got out of work. Upon arriving inside, we waited to be seated -- the manager was checking someone out at the register. She definitely noticed that we had come, but she was busy checking someone else out so that they could pay and leave. However, after checking the person ahead of us out, she didn't even bother to acknowledge that we were there, despite clearly making eye contact with us. We waited for other servers to greet us and seat us for a meal, and not a single one of them even cared to do their job and serve us the food that they're supposed be representing as a sit down restaurant.
The fact that a manager couldn't even be bothered to care for us and even -acknowledge- us upon entering really speaks volumes about the quality of service that you will receive. If you really know what's good for you, take the left out of the Denny's parking lot, go straight past the light, and make a left into El Rodeo. You'll be paying a little bit more, but the food is well worth it and I can personally guarantee that you won't be receiving that pathetic excuse for...
Read moreThe service was utterly terrible! When the waitress named 'Jessica' brought us our drinks she got them mixed up. I was ordering the build your own grand slam, where you choose four items. I told her only two & she started walking away, so I had to tell her to come back just so that I could finish placing my order... I told her that I wanted cheese over my red skin potatoes, she didn't write it down. So when the food came out, of course it was wrong. There was no syrup for my pancakes, no silverware, & there wasn't any cheese on top of my potatoes. I told her about it all, & she didn't take my plate back to put the cheese on the potatoes like I asked. I overheard her asking the grill line for shredded cheese in a bowl. So the manager brings it over, & I told him that it was wrong because I asked for it over my potatoes melted... Not cold unmelted cheese, the manager had a nasty attitude & looked at the plate like I did something wrong, he didn't even apologize like a manager should have done. My family sat at the table with empty glasses, & the waitress asked us if she could drop off the check when we wasn't even finished. We needed refills, which was obvious... so we asked her for those. She came back, with the drinks mixed again, & walked away. We didn't know which ones were the diet or the regular. when we came in we planned on getting the new molten chocolate cake, but since we were rushed by the waitress we didn't. All of the waitress were standing around talking, and gossiping about their customers loudly. Not only that, but one of the waitresses kid was at work with her, the child was running around & being loud... it was ridiculous, none of them was doing their job, including the manager. I didn't get his name, but he was white & was a bigger guy, he had the worst attitude there. The only one who was doing their job & wasn't standing around was this older lady, with bloNde hair, she looked like she was in her 50's. She was the only one that you saw running out to her tables, yet everyone else was lounging around. It was just a terrible experience, we're never...
