El Piquin Restaurant 2 — Restaurant in Maryland

Where do I begin...This place could have very well received a 4 start. However, there was a situation that occurred that I could not look past. My family and I arrived on Sunday afternoon when we were greeted by a really nice waitress. She took our drink orders and came back shortly to deliver the drinks and take our food orders.

She checked in periodically to make sure we were doing ok and all so turned the game on for us as we requested. Our food arrived, my husband got the buffalo burrito (6/10), my oldest son chicken quesadilla and fries (10/10) my youngest son got the nachos(0/10) and myself I got the shrimp taco platter(10/10).

My youngest took a bite out of his nachos that had crumbled bits of ground chorizo. He immediately did not like it. Therefore, I shared my food with him. At the end of the meal, we spoke with the waitress to inform her that my youngest meal was not very good, and we asked for it to be removed from the check. The young woman stated she could speak with her manager and let us know(she seemed stressed). She and the manager had a brief conversation that I decided to pay close attention to due to her being uneasy. Thankfully, I speak fluent enough Spanish that I picked up what the manager said to her.

This is where the 1 star rating comes from. The manager advised the waitress that she would have to pay for the nachos out of her own money because we asked for them to be removed from the check. He has litterally lost his mind. Because of this, when the check came, I advised her we would pay for all of the food and to not remove the nachos. If this is how this establishment chooses to treat its employees, I will never spend my money here again. I learned the man who did this to the young women was not the owner just the manager.

I had 20.00 to place an order so I looked at the menu on their website and I ordered steak tacos for 10.00 and a kids cheese quesadilla for 5.00. I asked them to put the toppings (sour cream, lettuce etc) on the side because her English wasn’t good and I honestly had a hard time understanding what she said they put on them and I didn’t want anything hot and spicy. I asked her to put them on the side and I’d put them on at home. She said it was 1.50 for a bowl and I said why can’t you put them in aluminum foil like other places do for free and she said no. So I let them put the toppings on so I didn’t pay the 1.50. When I got there my bill was $22 and change before tax, according to their menu online it should have been $15 before tax. I asked why and she said everything on the Internet is a dollar more and the tacos were no longer $10 and they are now 1199. I said how can you do that without advising the customer the prices are incorrect while placing the order? The only thing they kept saying was they were sorry so I said I don’t want the kids quesadillas that are now 7.99 instead of 5.00. It’s now 9.00 and they’re closed. Do you think they would have given me the kids cheese quesadillas for 5.00? Even if it’s just for customer satisfaction! No, they took them out of my bag and I assume threw them away. This is actually the first time I’ve ever written a bad review for any person or business and don’t even deserve 1 star. As much as I love their tacos I will NEVER step foot in that place again, I do not like dishonest people! Terrible terrible...

Part of my order was missing and I called the store, asked to speak to the manager and the girl hung up on me. Called back again and told her if she hangs up again I will drive to the store to make sure I talk to someone. She then tells me the manager isn’t there and I should call the other location.

Placed the order on Uber eats and should have been ready in less than 30 mins. I live 27 mins away and he left like 10 mins after I placed it. My uncle gets there and the food isn’t ready even though on the app it said it was. I took it as okay maybe they’re slammed

This has the be the blandest Mexican food I’ve tasted. Chipotle would have been a better option. The only thing that was desert was the guacamole and the breaded chicken. My uncle said his veggie burrito was good but they forgot his fries. My other uncle said his stuff peer was MID and he was not impressed. Also this is what the $8 plantains look like …hard as a rock and not even half ripe smh.
