Our visit to Gregorio's Trattoria in Bethesda was a delightful culinary experience that exceeded our expectations. Arriving on a Tuesday after a long day at Sibley Hospital, the restaurant's convenient location, just four minutes away, was a pleasant surprise, especially given our hunger after missing lunch.
As we settled into our seats, the attentive staff promptly brought out hot and garlicy breadsticks accompanied by a flavorful marinara sauce, setting a positive tone for the evening. The extensive wine list tempted us, and we opted for two glasses of red wine to complement our meal.
The highlight of our dining adventure was the main course. We decided to indulge in two pasta dishes: the scampi featuring jumbo shrimp and the classic bolognese. Our experience was elevated when the waiter, upon learning that my mom and I intended to share both dishes, offered to have them pre-split. This thoughtful gesture not only showcased excellent service but also surprised us with the generous portions that arrived at our table.
The flavors of both the scampi and bolognese were exquisite, and I found myself savoring every bite. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. It was evident that the chef took great care in crafting each dish.
The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall positive experience. We appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the option to enjoy our meal in the charming outdoor seating area equipped with heaters. The bar area, with its high tops, provided a vibrant atmosphere, making it an appealing spot for those looking to enjoy a drink or two.
Parking was plentiful, making our dining experience hassle-free from start to finish. Gregorio's Trattoria not only satisfied our hunger but also left us with a memorable dining experience. From the warm and attentive staff to the delicious food and inviting ambiance, this Italian restaurant in Bethesda is undoubtedly worth a visit for anyone seeking a delightful...
Read moreAfter a day of brewery hopping, we were getting hungry. My boyfriend was in the mood for salmon and Gregorio's Trattoria was the first place that came to mind.
Gregorio's Trattoria is an authentic Italian restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. We were originally seated outside but the sun was in our eyes so we asked to move indoors. The walls of the restaurant were decorated with scenic paintings and there was a curated Italian playlist playing in the background.
In addition to the green-colored dinner menu, we were given a drink menu and daily specials menu. After glancing over the menu, we placed our food and drinks. Since they were out of their Lemoncello Collins, we enjoyed Old Fashioned's and Lemon Drop Martini. For starters/appetizers, we shared an order of Fried Zucchini, which consisted lightly breaded and thinly-sliced zucchini fried and served with sweet tomato jam. I liked how crispy the Fried Zucchini were and how the tomato jam had chunky pieces of tomato. In between courses, we enjoyed a bread basket filled with buttery breadsticks and garlic knots served with marinara sauce. I wish that the bread basket was filled with just garlic knots. For dinner, we enjoyed the Salmon Rose and Pollo Francese with Zoodles. The Salmon Rose was served over linguine rose with sautéed broccolini. It was hearty. It consisted of fresh ingredients and tasted delicious with or without parmesan and/or red chili flakes. The Pollo Francese consisted of lightly egg battered chicken breasts cooked in a flavorful lemon butter sauce and served over zoodles instead of spaghetti. For dessert, we shared an order of homemade Tiramisu.
Thank you to the various staff members that checked up on us, Michael for excellent service and Felix for bussing the table in between courses. It was a memorable dining experience. It was also some of the best Italian food we've had in this area. We can't to return for more delicious...
Read moreFirst time dining and oh my was it wonderful! My friend and I are foodies and travel throughout the DMV trying different cuisines. This time was Italian and this place have Mr wanting more. The waitstaff was awesome and attentive. Even waiters from other table check in on our plus someone in management. We started if with some sangrias and bread. Be careful the bread will have you full if you over indulge because it's so good. For appetizer we order mozzarella sticks, calamari and mussels. If this was our meal... I would be in heaven but it was just the beginning and it only got better. Mozzarella was thick and cheesy with fresh marinara sauce. Calamari had the perfect crunch and chew and lastly the mussels were cooked to perfection and the sauce... oh my goodness was Devine. Entree: we both order the special veal chop Parmigiano and it should be a SIN to have veal so tender and flavorful with the perfect bowl of spaghetti. We couldn't finish the entree but knew our leftovers for tomorrow are going to be awesome! We order cannolis for dessert which had the perfect amount of crunch and perfect creamy sweet filling which was accompanied with creme brule Martini and Limoncello Martini. Strong with depth of flavor. Everything is reasonably priced and will most certainly add this restaurant into our rotation. Thank you for the...
