Experience at IHOP
Experience at IHOP 6/16/2023—-Husband ordered take out and picked up this order which was completely wrong—- ordered lightly scrambled eggs and French toast, received the below (pic below) eggs, waffles( not shown)—- apparently real eggs are not used but powdered artificial eggs are—- husband called and told the manager GiGi that I would stop in and exchange the order—- and by the way he left a $5 tip for a $11 take out order—- I stopped in and decided to dine-in —-in exchange for the do over—- GiGi said that would be fine—- placed me in the far back of the restaurant and she told the waitress that my meal was paid for—— the customer service was horrible —- I was treated like my meal was free—- the waitress and others who served me looked annoyed—— I received my order with a bit of reluctance towards me—- the diet soda flat, so ordered water w/ lemon instead—- it came with lemon dumped in the water— lemons should have been on the side in this time of Covid—-received a cheese burger and fries with a knife, no napkins, ketchup or fork. Requested a folk from three employees that passed my way —-took 3 mins or more —-no one came so I went up to the waitress stand to ask for a folk— by the time I received it my burger was cold—- asked for ketchup, and asked if they had dessert, waitress said no —- I looked at the menu again and ordered the chocolate cake (ignorant answer) —-that took 20 minutes after the reminder—the cake ice cold, not good when it did arrive—— during and after my meal the waitress nor the manager Gigi asked me if the food was ok or if I needed anything— every time I needed something I had to tag whoever came close. I was treated like I did not pay for my meal—- others were greeted by my waitress with a smile and kindness—- I on the other hand was snubbed as if I was a freeloader—- in fact after my order the waitress never came back—-I stayed at the table for over an hour distressed by the poor service—- made a decision to ask GiGi if I could speak with her as she was leading someone to their table—-I told GiGi customer service was poor and not even a bum on the street should be treated this way—- it was bad service trickled across the board —- mostly Spanish servers and restaurant was filled with black people who support this restaurant—— training is needed for the staff to be responsible and most of all, courteous to anyone who sit in their seats—- brought to tears over the ignorance of each of the staff members I requested help from—-even the cleaning person did not bother to take the finished meal items; but, cleaned the table beside me—-I smiled and asked please for anything I requested—-I do not plan to return —- but wish that our people would stop supporting restaurants like this who benefit from the black community and snub those who they don’t deem worthy of a decent meal. This demographic of people would not like to be treated this way ——so stop treating others like they don’t exist if they feel there is no benefit to them personally —- I am a paying customer, woman, gray haired, and black —-all of the above could have been a factor—- yes??? Never like to call this into question but may have played a major role with this awful service! Hope staff will get training that’s needed—— including management. This set the tone for a bad day—- and memory I will never forget—-I made the best of it. I hope their loved ones, especially the elderly never get treated the way...
Read moreI love that IHOP has plant-based options. It makes it a place to go with family & friends where everyone can eat! Not only can you get breakfast, lunch, or dinner; but you can also eat according to your dietary needs or preferences for the most part. My only gripe with them is not ever having something that is listed on their menu. They're supposed to offer Silk Oatmilk Creamer for the coffee for those who are lactose intolerant vegan or plant-based, but I haven't found an IHOP yet that has it. 4 different locations in 4 different cities and nothing. What is going on? I thought maybe people are using them, and they're going out as fast as they go in. But, it's quite the opposite, which I found out after finally asking. They leave them in a box in the cooler until they go bad. Not enough folk are asking for them, seemingly. Then, someone who wants them asks, and the box is already thrown away from the creamers going bad. How about providing them whenever anyone asks for coffee? What about putting an assortment of creamer and sugars on a saucer? I think people will use them if they see them at least they'll try them. Some will love them and maybe some won't but they'd be available and used by customers. Because not ever having them is a horrible scenario also. I can't ever enjoy a cup of coffee with cream at IHOP because they don't keep the silk creamers in stock. There's got to be a solution for the issue. The customer wants the product, but the business doesn't want to lose money. But it's a loss of money to lose the customers who won't come because there's nothing or limited items for them. That's why they started with it in the first place.
*Must say Sheri (sp) the hostess at this Waldorf location was phenomenal! She was pleasant, efficient, and very helpful. She even helped out the waitress when the waitress was overwhelmed!
*Also, my guy enjoyed his entire meal! He has no restrictions. The food was good, he said, even the boxed mac and cheese! This is an overall good review. We enjoyed our meals. Just wish they'd figure out something about the creamers. And a non-dairy pancake would be...
Read moreThis IHOP in Waldorf is under New Management and oh boy can you tell. Personally, the menu has changed. They have the old menus out but when you try to order they said that option is no longer available. It would be another 2 to 3 months before they put out a new menu. Shouldn't this be pointed out to the customer as soon as they are seated and not not after that? We have looked at the menu for 15 minutes trying to decide what we want and then once we place our order. Oh that's unavailable. Then we could clearly see. Did you had a new waitress? She was very soft-spoken nervous I guess and didn't know how to work the new order taking equipment. There was someone shadowing her and just kept standing by watching her instead of coming over to assist. Then the waitress was new she did not give us all the information we needed when we ordered. I ordered a bacon omelette which normally is served with the pancakes I asked. Could I have waffles instead of pancakes? She said sure no problem. Never mentioned anything about a up charge or anything until the bill came $4 to change my three pancakes to one one for waffle. Oh and also man just says he chose to no longer have kids for free. Which is definitely his choice but that should have been told to customers. This IHOP and its new management should have informed their patrons of the higher prices and the new charges when substituting an menu items. The kids policy. I was shocked when I say bill, it was over $70 for breakfast for myself, my daughter and my...
