Food is decent but several factors make it sort of irrelevant… first time in, the line was long & the customer service wasn’t good, which caused the long line not to move. I ordered my food in advance online, but still had to wait behind each person making decisions for several people while ordering their food, so by the time I got to the front of the line to get my food, and got my food home (5 mins away), it was cold and the jerk chicken and rice was all dried out. A woman said to a customer ahead of me that there was a special of a free drink when ordering 3 beef patties. I had ordered one chicken patty and two beef patties, but they said they were out of chicken so they gave me 3 beef patties. So after I got my food, I asked the person who handed me the bag and turned to go back in the kitchen… excuse me, but I think I overheard the other woman at the register say that today’s special was a free drink with 3 beef patties. Doesn’t that mean that my drink should be free or I should get another drink, since it looks like I paid for this one? And she said oh I don’t know anything about that… are you trying to get a free drink? To which I said “no, but I thought I heard that it was the special so I’m wondering why I didn’t get it - is it only for certain customers?” The person who got it was an attractive young man, so I can only assume that demo was for the special.. so I said “okay, thanks” and was on my way without the drink. Since I had to wait so ling for my food, next time I ordered DoorDash, and the driver asked them to call me to say that they were still waiting for my food… needless to say, everything arrived barely warm. The driver arrived there promptly 15 minutes after I placed my order, but waited over 40 minutes for the food (it was just two plates of curry chicken). The rice & peas and chicken taste like it was cooked in the morning and left in a hot pot all day. Nothing tasted like it was freshly cooked or even heated up to order it just taste like it’s sitting all day. Most of the food was dried out and while the flavor and seasonings were good, the quality of the food is not. Beef patties are good though because they can sit all day and still be moist inside. All in all, I’m happy that this restaurant made its way further up Reisterstown Road, but the customer service and food quality could stand some...

I have visited this location twice before for breakfast, and the food has always been good. However, today, I ordered about 5 dinner platters for my family, and I must say, $120+ later, I am extremely disappointed.

Oxtail and Rice & Peas: I received about 4-5 pieces of oxtail, and about 3 pieces were TOUGH. The rice grains were hard. I thought they might have just been cold and decided to warm them up a bit, but they were still undercooked. The flavor was good, but the quality and portion size were not worth the price.

Curry Goat: Bone, bone, bone! There was so much bone and not enough meat. The curry did not have the usual flavorful Jamaican taste. Instead, it seemed like someone put their own twist on it, even tasting almost like nutmeg, which is unusual for curry. Overall, it was a disappointment.

Curry Shrimp: While not the usual curry flavor, this dish was still flavorful, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The gravy was thicker than I’d like, but that can get a pass.

Brown Stew Chicken: It tasted a bit burnt, as if the burn was covered up with browning. The flavor was okay, but the burnt taste was hard to ignore.

Sides:

• Cabbage: It was okay, but not very flavorful, and it seemed like frozen vegetables were used and combined with the cabbage. The cabbage was cooked well but could have used a bit more seasoning. • Plantain: Top tier. No complaints. Perfectly ripened and fried.

Chicken Soup: The soup was incredibly thick, and the flavor was overpowered by salt. It was very salty. While I know people have different preferences, the ratio of food to broth in the soup was disproportionate. We did not enjoy it at all.

I am not sure if there was a different cook today than in the mornings, but this experience was disappointing. After spending so much on food after a long day, it was frustrating. Definitely a good food spot to eat hands down!!! I got a breakfast burrito. The food was fantastic!!! HOWEVER, the service was garbage🤔! There was a young lady in there that DID NOT have good service skills. I placed my order normal no issues nothing extra "hey what would you like"...."Ill try the breakfast burrito" sides and drink?" 1,2,3 easy done, she was very passive towards me! I sat down and didnt say anything else but my order, four other people happen to come in minutes after me.... she proceeds to make ALL 4 OF THEM a free drink for no reason and didn't offer me anything I was like LOL.....WHAT? Who does that and i mean she really went out of her way making them drinks too😆! No one asked her for a drink or told her to do that , she just stopped what she was doing which was stocking and cleaning the fridge and then went to town on those drinks and called each person to the counter and gave them what looked to be a very nice drink that i was like oh cool this spot is different and then she was like forget you lol and i didnt get the call. I didn't understand the disregard when it was FIVE TOTAL and you serve 4! She also did not greet me coming in or leaving. The food was still good either way. I like telling my whole experience when I go especially if service is suspect. It was very obvious her attitude with me for no reason.
