Joe's Seafood — Restaurant in Maryland

We needed mussels for a dish my wife was going to make. We called at 535pm and the girl on the phone verified they had mussels. She asked if we wanted them cooked and we said no , we need them raw. We pull into the parking lot at 537pm, go inside and ask for the mussels. The girl behind the counter said they were out. We mentioned what we just called and the girl on the phone checked and verified they had them. She looks at the other 2 girls sitting in the counter and they both had this dumbfounded look on their faces. The girl goes in the back to check, and comes back saying they do not have mussels.

We thought we may have called the wrong place so my wife checked her phone and asked if the number was to that location. Again, nothing but a dumbfounded look but this time by all 3 behind the counter. My wife asks again is this the number here? You would think we were talking to a brick wall. As we were leaving, we verified the number was to that location because of the LED sign outside with the number.

We actually didn't care that we were misinformed but what was annoying was the lack of competence behind the counter. If they would have said sorry, we actually don't have mussels, we would have left it at that but the playing dumb act is what made things worse. I will definitely not purchase anything from here...

I like to try many seafood retails. Today I picked Joes Seafood 😀. The staff seemed ready to help take orders and I was asked multiple times which was good. The seems ready to answer and questions asked. I was i formed they only sell male crabs, kind of made me sad but great for repopulation of crabs. Then I hooed to get crab claws but unfortunately they wouldnt have them till possibly friday. I also asked for cream of crab soup but it was still being made which I was hoping for since it was past 130pm 😪. I than ordered a regular seasoned ff, 12 crab balls and two raw backfin crab cakes which I will cook this evening. The seasoned ff was great, seasoned will and cooked just long enough. The crab balls have a nice crispy outside and soft center, the size of each one equal and sufficient. The taste how ever was a bit off, they tasted fishy, I am thinking possibly cooked in the same oil causing the flavor to be off. Im sure when I cook the two raw backfin crab cakes I will actually taste the crab meat. Also I noticed they have apple cider vingar and pints of J.O Spice for $1.89 each, you cant find that price for that amount of J.O Spice any where so definitely a good place to buy. Over All Id give 3 stars...

Me and the honey searched high and low for a great deal on some meaty crabd on a Sunday afternoon. We first went to a place called Cravin crabs. I didn't quite like what I saw an options were nearly exhausted when a kind gentleman who had been waiting outside reccomend Joe's. Well, it turn out that stopping at Cravin was the best move we made in quite sometime. We got a dozen and a half of the large males and was very impressed. All consistently large with no mediums or smalls thrown into the mix. They were all heavy and packed full of meaty, moist and succulent crab deliciousness. The price was very fair as well.
