We want to thank Kobe Japan for opening in our neighborhood!
We just went for the first time today and while there was a bit of delay given that they are still getting their operations in synch due to recently opening, the food quality was amazing!!!
We ordered:
Dancing eel roll- this was the best, most crunchy, non-greasy deep fried roll I’ve had in a while. The eel was perfectly cooked and the sauces were not over powering. Volcano roll - this roll was subtle in its sophistication, when you first bite the texture of the tuna and crunch are pleasing and the spicey tuna taste is amazing. Towards the end of your bite, a slight taste of lemon elevates the flavor profile of the roll. Kobe Roll - this role was a dance in umami decadence. We omitted the shrimp due to allergies, but the marinated beef and chicken combined with the more typical Japanese sauces were simply transfixing! Kani salad - Simple with plenty of imitation crab, quite filling despite small portion. We believe that the addition of scallions or some roe might elevate this dish further. Crab Rangoon's - this appetizer is done really well, they use the appropriate cheese which held up to the frying process without congealing, the imitation crab is well accented by how the dish was treated. Chicken wings - the chicken wings were completely cooked through, they were seasoned and crunchy. The sauce that accompanies these wings is amazing. Despite being a light sauce with a low viscosity, the sauce really packs in bold flavors that do not overwhelm your palette or make you feel like a bloated mess after!
Thank you for coming to our neighborhood KOBE JAPAN,...
Read moreI love Hibachi so it's hard to disappoint me. I tried this spot for the first time while stopping by the dollar store as a quick fix for dinner. The staff was nice, always appreciate a door greeting. It took about the average time to whip up chicken over white rice, needless to say I was in and out without needing to make an order. I was surprised by the large serving size which I appreciated. But that's when I remember what was hanging by the wall, it was a list of their sauces and charges that came along with them. Aside from the meal it came with a cup of yum yum sauce.
This is where I was heavily disappointed. While it's alot of chicken it's hard to believe they splashed any type of teriyaki sauce while cooking or topping off the entree. I don't use yum yum personally and I don't expect them to season the meat (if they do its not tasteable) so over white rice teriyaki sauce (especially if you opt out of the orangish-pink sauce) is the bare minimum.
I think it's fair to note it's something ALL of the competitors do to add flavor to what is a plain but delicious hibachi. Idk I could understand an upcharge for EXTRA but I felt skimped even tho it's a hefty serving. I don't want to pay for teriyaki sauce to be topped off and I think a fair compromise would be to throw soy sauce in the bag, that'd be what keeps ME coming personally. But I did enjoy the food and I'll give it a second shot eventually. Until then the OG hibachi spots will...
Read moreI don't know how and why this place has some good views, they should better call it a place that sells RICE ONLY, not chicken teriyaki. I went to buy a teriyaki and the lady at the front, an Asian person, was a little bit rude when she took the order. they charged extra for fried rice. Anyways after waiting for almost half an hour for a plate of chicken teriyaki with fried rice. They gave me the order I took it home guess what surprise, I got few pieces of chicken and a HUGE amount of rice, that's it, I'm not exaggerating, it was literally a plate of fried rice. I was like WOW WOW WOW , what happened here? They're Cheating the people, they need to watch out, I definitely do not recommend this place to anyone and they should change that person and change the name of that dish to JUST RICE Very bad service. I'm sorry but the truth is...
