Customer service is not present ! I manage a restaurant and dash on my days off (student debt) everytime I come to this place the daughter working the front is extremely passive aggressive the moment she knows you’re not an actual customer. Here’s the thing, dashers help you connect to your customers and should be treated the same because once the food is delivered dashers are a reflection of the business/food. If dashers can understand this,it’s un fathomable that this business can not. The store opens at 11 the Order was to be ready by 1130. At 1130 they said another 30 minutes and that it’s not their fault it’s door dash fault lol I’m sorry but doesn’t every restaurant open early for prep? Or is everyone late to work like the girl at the desk because it’s a family business? Maybe the girl particularly is too comfortable in that fact, I know she wouldn’t last working at an actual business. To piggy back off other reviews as well, the food is old. Especially the patties in the heat box. Hold held food should be replaced every 4 hours. When I go in the afternoon you can tell they don’t do this- they’re super dry. More health and safety violations I will report to the health department -the girl doesn’t wear non slip shoes or head cover and is always in The back kitchen where food is being prepared. Gross
update per Susana woolcock’s (daughter) response I never interacted with your Parents or even you the 1st time I was there because the order was ready as it should’ve been-I grabbed it and left. Like all your other responses to customers, no accountability. Shameful business youre...
Read moreI saw this place a few times as I went next door for Chinese. I'm a tough critic when it comes to Jamaican food because I'm in Jamaica multiple times per year, and the food on the island is amazing. Well, I was picking up a friend to eat lunch at a Jamaican spot in Rockville, but the traffic was horrible, and I was hungry. I looked up spits close to where we were, and when I arrived, I was pleased because I kept saying I wanted to try this place.
The place is small, but well decorated and has a real Jamaica feel. The service was very friendly and genuine, which means a lot. I loved that the place was spotless and cozy, just wished they had a table or two for customers that traveled to sit and eat.
The Food: I had oxtail as a side dish, and they were seasoned perfectly, were hot, and fell off the bone! I had the jerked lamb chops, which were recommended by the young lady at the register and good God from Zion...those lamb chops were better than the ones I ate in Egypt! They weren't too spicy but spicy enough to enjoy, and they too were nice and tender. The rice and peas and cabbage were super yummy, I ate every bite and slowly picked my fingers. My friend had the jerked chicken with Mac n cheese, and he raved about how good his food was. I will be returning here tomorrow for more lamb chops! I am so glad there was traffic that forced me to stop in. This is my new spot to enjoy...
Read moreWe’re going to try again, but our first experience here was “okay” (meh.) My boyfriend is from the Caribbean and when he saw this place, he was dying to try it out. We got:
Plain wings with jerk ranch Jerk wings Coleslaw Fries Cheese cake Beef patty Coco bread Mac and cheese And some drinks.
Like other reviews said, some of the portions are small and a little pricey, we were okay with it as long as the food was Bomb…. But we were disappointed.
The coco bread was flakey and hard on the corners. The beef patty was okay (it was also hard and flaky) .. I was making comparisons to Negril , and it wasn’t even close for me.
The coleslaw was soggy , the plain wings were good, but they forgot to give us our jerk ranch so that was a bummer…
The jerk wings had great seasoning to them, but we like our wings with a little bit more crunch/crispy-ness. They were very soft/squishy.
The Mac & cheese had a a great cheesy layer on top, but that was it. The inside was straight up noodles, butter , and spice.. not what we had in mind.
The cheese fake was deff store bought, didn’t feel or taste homemade. There was nothing special about it. It was okay.
The fries were good though ! I liked them a lot.
Maybe we tried the wrong things on the menu. When we got there , certain items were “sold out.”
We’re willing to try it again.. but for tonight we give it a 3/5. We spent 50-55$...
