Kyo Sushi — Restaurant in Maryland

I honestly have really tried to give this place a chance several times since they’re a local business but after last night’s meal, I am leaving this review. I will not be going here again. Their sushi is mediocre at best. I also have ordered their chicken fried rice and tako Yaki both of which were so gross that they were inedible. The tako yaki has always been doughy and last night it was undercooked and gross. The chicken in their chicken fried rice crunchy and gross, I couldn’t even eat that either. There were also essentially no veggies in the chicken fried rice. The sushi was the only thing edible which I’ve honestly had way better at other places nearby. We've had lunch here a few times now but only just getting round to the review. Before moving to Frederick County, I'd only ever had sushi once before in my life. Thanks to Kyo (and others, but especially Kyo) I've now had it half a dozen times! It's a small place so getting a table and a parking spot can be difficult at the busiest times. Service is always very friendly.

The lunch special with miso soup (delicious!) and 3 rolls is $13.95. The missus and I always share everything between us, as I fumble to use my chopsticks (still not got the hang of them). I find cucumber bland so we tend to avoid rolls with it in, but there are still plenty to choose from. The Shrimp Tempura roll being a clear highlight. The food was very BAD quality and was overpriced. On top of that, there was dirt on the chicken. Our order took ONE HOUR- We ordered the COCONUT CHICKEN and it was horrible and expensive-- they put chicken with lots of coconut sweeten. IT was more like a DESSERT then food. I called and requested to refund my order and the lady over the phone was so rude and said this is what it is we don't do refund even you spent over $55 on a order here-- the owner was so disrespectful-- he said no refund if you didn't like the food, you don't have to order here anymore.
