It’s Father’s Day and my brothers favorite cake is rainbow cake, I called Lenny’s deli this morning and asked the deli man who is either someone’s uncle, brother, brother in law, or grandfather if they had rainbow cake and he said yes. I went out to Pikesville from Catonsville and I asked for a piece of rainbow cake. I showed with my hands the size of cake I wanted equivalent to 1/4-1/2 of cake and the employee said they do not cut rainbow cakes, I told her I wanted to talk to the man behind the counter with her as he was who I spoke to this morning. He came over, I told him I spoke with him on the phone and I’m here to get rainbow cake and asked how much is a half, he said $23.99, I said how much is a quarter he said $23.99, I asked how is it that a 1/4 and a 1/2 are the same price and he said it’s incentive to make people buy 1/2 of cake, now I know what the true meaning of goniff. I find him to be an embarrassment and why non-Jewish people think of us this way. There were other customers standing next to me and we were talking about poor customer service, one lady said the old man is her husbands cousin and he came in first thing due to 3 workers called out…not my problem and I don’t think employees should talk about employee issues with customers, does not look good on the owner. He boxed up my 1/2 of rainbow cake and smeared chocolate all over the top of the box. The young man at the register took the box and reboxed it, he at least knew what customer service is about. Happy Father’s Day to my brother from now on I will be buying Carvels ice cream cake from any...
Read moreLONG time customer of Lenny's, have always enjoyed their food but the last couple of times I've ordered food have been horrible experiences and today is the last time i order food from here. I am so truly disappointed in the serve and food received today. I Ordered breakfast for a co-worker and myself and first off the delivery driver waited well over a half hour at the restaurant for French toast and a toasted bagel. I ordered fries and according to the driver he was waiting on those to be prepared for an excessive amount of time and then 20mins later said they cant make your fries for whatever unknown reasoning. I wasn't given the courtesy of a phone call to even let me know nor was i offered or given any type of compensation or other options for my missing item which was almost $10 for an order of western fries. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and lox which is supposed to come with onions, capers, tomato and i received a dry bagel with little lox and NOTHING else, NO cream cheese and none of the extras. The side of scrapple was cold and hard as a rock and the whole entire order was cold after waiting so long for an order of fries i didn't even receive. The whole order was just not correct, it took well over an hour to get the food, waited for fries that i didn't even receive nor get compensation for let alone a simple acknowledgment from the establishment. Poor customer service and food service is going downhill fast! I am beyond sad and disappointed as I've always loved Lenny's but its consistently and repeatedly just not providing good service all the...
Read moreVisit this place yesterday evening and was not pleased at all. I passed this place many times and was surprised when I walked in to see the size and the variety on the menu, this is great. There was gentlemen behind the counter who looked at me and continued fixing an order he was working on. I stood there for a couple of minutes and asked the two customers awaiting for their order, where do I place my order? I was told by both customers right where I was standing (in front of the counter where the man was preparing the food). I thanked them both and I'm pretty sure hearing our conversation, the man preparing the food behind the counter never looked up to assure someone would be right with me or at a minimum gave any type of greeting. I figured, ok he's busy, let me be patient and wait a couple of more minutes. He remained silent and even had small conversation with the gentleman who offered me assistance concerning his food order. At this time I decided to leave and felt that customer service was not important.
This may not be much to anyone or for the most case not even bother the gentleman working last evening but I'm hoping that this was not a normal practice. As a former business owner and public servant for the state, I pride myself in serving others and make a point of properly greeting everyone appropriately as a form of thanking them for using our business and giving us the privilege to serve them.
This was a big thumbs down for me. I can't say that I will never give them a try again but really hope others will have a...
