Dragon Best — Restaurant in Pikesville

Small, basic restaurant in a strip mall. If you don't already know about it,, you may not notice it from the road, but that would be a shame because the food is terrific.

As in most Chinese restaurants, the meal starts with fried noodles, Chinese mustard and apricot sauce. The noodles are delicious, the apricot sauce is sweet and the mustard is strong.

We requested a pot of tea, and they brought a nice size pot of excellent oolong tea and two tea cups.

My wife had the lunch special shrimp and broccoli in garlic sauce. It came with fried rice, an egg roll and soup. She had the egg drop soup. Her meal was very good.

I had the lunch special teriyaki grilled salmon. It's easy to overcook salmon, but my salmon was just right, and the teriyaki sauce was quite flavorful.

My meal came with salad, a side of broccoli, and white rice. I declined the rice. The salad was crisp and fresh. It came with a Thai peanut sauce and was excellent.

There's free parking in the strip mall. I highly recommend this place. Other reviewers have said that this place is pricey. I didn't get to see the dinner menu, but the lunch menu was quite reasonable. The decor is a bit basic, but the food...

UPDATE: Unfortunately, under the new ownership, the quality of sushi went down significantly. It's not just not memorable anymore, it's actually really not good. Spicy tuna roll tasted fishy and bitter, salmon skin fishy, eel standard, but all rolls are now much smaller in size. Sad. We've been to all top rated Baltimore sushi places and none even comes close to Dragon Best's. No way you can compare their sushi to the grocery store's. I haven’t eaten Chinese food in a long time and now I see why. I just ordered 2 egg rolls with chicken and shrimp along with a large chicken rice soup. The egg rolls were good but that soup was horrible. I couldn’t even eat it. The chicken didn’t taste like chicken. The texture wasn’t good at all especially in that broth which tasted like the same broth from egg drop soup. The rice was clumped together and it was not good at all.
