I'm sure other people enjoyed their food, maybe it's because they haven't had good Chinese food or we ordered the dishes they make terribly. I ordered Szechuan Chicken... Szechuan Chicken is a spicy dish with plenty of peppers and vegetables as well as juicy chunks of chicken. Theirs was not at all spicy, there were no peppers, the only vegetables in it were vegetables that don't usually come in this dish. It was loaded with mushrooms(which this dish sometimes has mushrooms but they put so many in I couldn't tell what was chicken and what was mushroom until I bit into it.) but not a single green or red pepper, nor red chili's, The flavor was off too... it had a fishy aftertaste. The egg rolls had no meat or seafood at all. It was pretty much just a deep fried cabbage roll. And they were overcooked and so greasy I had to try to squeeze the oil out before I ate one. The General Tso's Chicken was another disappointment. It just looked like they had leftover Sesame Chicken and added broccoli to it. That too wasn't spicy either. The flavor wasn't bad, it just wasn't General Tso's Chicken. Neither was the Orange Chicken that looked and tasted nearly exactly like the General Tso's Chicken. Only they made the effort to add some raw orange peel. Needless to say I wasted my money because nobody wanted to eat it after that. And even though I ordered extra rice there still wasn't enough to go around because they made sure not to fill the containers. It was loosely placed inside so it looked full but it certainly was not. Needless to say I woke up this morning with a upset stomach and pain in my lower abdomen.
Being new in town and not knowing which Chinese place would be good I choose by the reviews. I wish I hadn't now... It wasn't the worst I've ever had but it's far and away from the best either. I wouldn't order from this...
Read moreIf I could give 0 or negative stars I would. Since the previous owners sold/transferred it to the current people the quality of the food has gone from 10+ stars to the current 0 or - status, and that's a step above the service. They COMPLETELY MESSED UP our order (not the first time) and when we called back to get it corrected, she argued with us each time saying we ordered what we received, and having multiple witnesses in our household affirm our claim she continued to deny the fact that we ordered a totally different order and REFUSED to correct THEIR ERROR! Other times the food is what we ordered is just terrible quality for what you'd expect and should receive to the point we don't even want to eat it. And before you ask "well why do you keep going back there" to answer that, the ONLY time we order from there is the very rare occasion the place on the other side of Sony creek Bridge is closed, and like idiots we think "let's give them the benefit of the doubt" ALWAYS to end up being extremely disappointed yet again. I don't like to slam anyone but if the like once a year or every two year instance that an establishment is consistently that bad especially if it's not just customer service but also the quality then YES I will speak up and let others know what to expect and maybe prevent another family from wasting money on food that not only isn't what you asked for but is also to the point of being nonedible. All I can say is hopefully Lucky house on Fort Smallwood Rd changes hands again soon and returns to the level we had all come to expect from...
Read moreEtymology. The words chow mein means 'stir-fried noodles', chow meaning 'stir-fried' (or "sautéed") and mein meaning 'noodles'.... If you order chow mein at this restaurant, you will not get noodles. Just veggies and whatever protein you ordered. I tried to explain this to them and they tried to tell me that what I REALLY wanted was Lo Mein..."Mein" being the chinese word for noodles. Otherwise, the food is standard as far as chinese...
