McDonald's — Restaurant in Maryland

I was disappointed with my experience at this location. I had placed an online order late in the evening. We waited about 10 minutes and no one ever came out. Finally I go in because it’s taking a while. They didn’t even have our order ready; there were only two people through the driver through that entire 10 minutes we sat in the to go spots. It didn’t seem as if they were exceptionally busy. When I go in she begins working on our order. I said I was here for a to go spot order. She tells me we don’t go out there at night because it is unsafe. How long would you have let us wait there and not be informed in anyway. Secondly we are in an ambulance. If any vehicle is safe to go up to it would be us. I was just irritated that they have no plan for letting customers know that they aren’t going to be using the pull up and park spots at night. We got to the Silver Spring store about noon on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. It was fairly busy table-wise, but many of the patrons weren't eating. Mostly teens sitting and talking or faces glued to their phones. Ordering from the kiosk was quick and easy. Waiting for the food to come to our table was a bit frustrating. It took at least 14 minutes, which I realized after my grandson said multiple times how hungry he was. Our receipt showed the order placed at 12:04 and when I looked at my watch it was 12:18. Didn't recall seeing the time when the worker brought our food. Grandson got a chicken nugget happy meal and I ordered a Big Mac meal. The fries were awesome. The Big Mac was mediocre at best. His nuggets were only ok. We didn't expect perfection, but it seems the restaurant claims it's fast food?...

I ordered 2 sandwiches and 1 apple pie, paid at 1st window, arrived at 2nd window to be told they had no more apple pies. They offered me blueberry, which I declined. I asked for a refund. The cashier seemed bewildered. She got a second person. I explained I wanted a refund. A manager was called. She gave me a refund without the tax. I asked, "Where is the tax you owe me?" She asked for my receipt and pointed at the tax amount and said, "The tax was paid on the sandwiches." She said it a second time as she was pointing to the tax amount. In turn, I pointed out to her that there was a 6% I paid on all of the food I ordered, and she simply couldn't just refund the pie's purchase price that I paid and not refund the tax that I also paid.
