I was on a mission to find the best pizza in the Fallston area. I come down to the area frequently and needed a place for a good pie. I decided to start with Mr Y's because I pass by one of their stores on RT 1 on my way here. I went to the restaurant at lunchtime on Saturday in July last week. Parking was ample and upon entering the place was roomy and clean. I was greeted by two nice employees and I ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. The nice employees recommended the pan pizza as the crust would hold the toppings better. The pizza was done and on the way home in a short time. The pizza was excellent. Nice balance of toppings, delicious high grade quality. The crust was a perfect match, crispy where it needed to be and not too bready elsewhere. I detected a nice subtle heat from some red pepper, but I didn't know if it was the pepperoni or the sauce. I will be back to frequent this wonderful satisfying find. Update: 6/29 I finally made it back due to visiting in the area. No as good this time. I ordered the same pie and was a bit underwhelmed. I'll try to post the picture of this purchase. It just didn't measure up to the previous visit product. Less toppings, less cheese. Maybe time to give another...
Read moreEdited to add.. the manager did reach out and left me a voicemail. They let me know they took a couple dollars off my bill (which honestly they should have refunded the whole bill because pizza was the main dish and it was the last thing we got. The whole meal was ruined. I might have given them another try but I definitely won't now). They also said that they did remake the pizza but as I stated before it was cold when I got it.
First if i could give negative stars i would... to start it took a little over an hour to get our food. When we got our food they didn't bring our pizza. When I called them they said they will bring it right back out. Its now been 25 minutes later and the pizza just got here and its COLD (when i spoke to them i asked if they would remake it and the manager said yes).. our funnel cake fries (2 orders) were so burnt that we couldn't eat them. Not to mention they charged me 3 DOLLARS for extra powdered sugar and we didn't even get it. 3 dollars for sugar is asinine. We also ordered Cheesesteak fries they were ok but all it tasted like was dried parsley. The only thing that was edible was the kids spaghetti. We spent $50 on food and still had to eat cereal at home. My kids and i couldn't be more...
Read moreMr. Y's 2nd store is better than the 1st! My. Y's opened at their 1st location in Darlington about 4 years ago. Hampered by buying a restaurant that was mediocre at best, a difficult location and lack of facilities to provide on site seating, that location struggled for a bit to get traction until people in the area experienced their great food and spread the word. They are doing great at that location now.
They bring their great foods, a slightly expanded menu and a facilities that can support indoor dining to their new restaurant here in Fallston. They still make thin crust and pan pizzas, strombolis and calzones. Their steak subs are still made with 100% sirloin beef. They use Grande brand cheese products for their pizzas and sandwiches. The cook their own wings from fresh chicken, not precooked and prepackaged frozen parts.
Their menu is extensive. Including the pizza and steak subs above, they serve appetizers, chicken wings, burgers, wraps, cold sandwiches, salads and pasta dishes. The portion sizes on everything are generous.
My favorites are the steak subs but their pizzas are a very close 2nd. You won't go wrong here. I recommend them...
