Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Maryland

Papa John's used to be a really good pizza for reasonable prices. Honestly all pizza places have gone up. Last night I ordered pizza on the app so that I could pick it up on the way home from work. Something happened with one of my pizzas and they had to remake it which they did quickly. When I got it home it was hot but that was where everything good ended. I had ordered two of their new New York style pizza, one with salami in black olives and the other with meatballs and a three cheese blend. Neither of them felt like they had hardly any sauce, I'm not sure if that's because of the bake on it or they were just not putting a lot on it. The New York style pizza is advertised as being cut into only eight slices because it's meant to have large foldable slices, but they definitely cut it like a regular extra large pizza. Definitely feel like both were overcooked. The flavor was not good, and while one pizza had adequate toppings at least, the meatball one barely had any toppings on it and the way that they cut it which of course wasn't the way it was supposed to be done, there wasn't even a single meatball on each slice. I know that I will never order meatball again if I even order from Papa John's ever again.

In fact when my daughter came down to eat, she was very excited that it was Papa John's, but only a few minutes later she came running back downstairs and said it was so horrible she threw it away and microwaved chicken nuggets instead for her dinner. I paid $32 for these pizzas for my daughter to throw it away. My husband and I ate our slices because we were hungry. My husband was way too tired to call and complain about it considering he has a very labor intensive job and has to drive 40 minutes to work and be there at 5:30 in the morning. At this point I can honestly say that Little Caesars has stepped their game up and is much better than Papa John's. I could have gotten three pizzas for the price that I paid last night, and I would have been much more satisfied with the flavor. I don't know what has happened but PJs has definitely gone downhill.

I would like to say that the staff was very nice. They were attentive and courteous and very kind. I don't know whether it was the person making the pies or the ingredients or I will concede that it was just a bad night. But I will say this: for the money that you pay I will likely be purchasing from Little Caesars...

Horrible experience. I ordered a pizza at 5 o’clock for delivery. I 5:30 I saw that the door dasher was picking up my order (I ordered through papa John’s not DoorDash and I hate that they use dashers… I don’t like using door dash) then it switches to say that they’re preparing my order again. Then it says a second person picks it up, then back to preparing my order. I thought dashers were picking it up and cancelling it because I was paying CASH so they didn’t see a tip.

Finally at 6:15 - an hour and 15 mins after I ordered I called. It directs you to a customer service automated number, I asked to speak to the store 3 times and it hung up all 3 times. Finally I got through to someone and told them I’d been waiting an hour and fifteen mins for my food. They said they were just about to call me and the first dasher stole my food. How did they know they stole the food? Normally they would know by me calling and saying the food didn’t arrive. If they did steal the food that dasher picked up the food at 5:30, it was 6:15. Why wasn’t it being remade and sent out and why did the second dasher pop up as picking up the order then go back to being prepared? I’m so confused by this.

They said they can remake it and send it out but it would be ANOTHER hour before it arrived. So 2.5 hour for a medium pizza, cheese sticks and bread sticks. They didn’t offer to discount the order or say “we will get it out asap”. I know they can’t control that the person stole the food but they can control how they react to that. The food should have been remade and sent out asap, and it should have been discounted. My kids were hungry and I didn’t wanna wait another hour so I cancelled the order. I worked at papa John’s for years and this is not the PJ standard. After reading all of the other reviews here idk how...

I ordered pizza about 2 weeks ago. Usually a papa johns employee will usually do the delivery .unfortunately for me. DoorDash did my delivery for papajohns that day let me first say this is crazy .i recieved a phone call from the doordash driver she told me that she got stoped by police and she would be late she gave the location where she was so my husband decided since she was around the corner he will take a little walk as her story was not believable okay he is at the location no police but a car sitting there with a lady arguing on her cell phone.Honestly i believe that was the same driver when i called her back after 30 min. She stated she was still there when i told her that my husband was there at that very spot she hung up on me . I called papa johns immediately and told them i did not want the pizza and my garlic bread anymore i was told ill get a refund .Never got the refund by the way.secondly i was very disappointed my family and i never ate the food the doordash driver left the food on my chair on my porch and never knocked or call me back to say the pizza was there we did not know the pizza was at the front till the next morning.I like papajohns but after this incident it will be a long time that i would ever order again from there. If I could give this review a Big Zero no...
