Pasquale's Italian Pizza — Restaurant in Maryland

My wife and I are away for the weekend and found ourselves too tired to go out to eat so we cancelled our reservation and decided to order takeout. My wife mentioned pizza and pulled Pasquale’s listing from the phone, perpetually stuck to her face, so we looked at the mahhhvelous reviews and decided to give it a shot. . Quick note: Frederick Md. shuts down early! D likes cheese pizza so cheese it was. I pulled into this small strip of storefronts and parked right in front of Pasquale’s. I put the car in park and jumped out to get the pizza. Why you ask? Because whilst I was running around Frederick like a chicken with my head cut off, D was back at the room doing god knows what. I entered Pasquale’s and the young man sweeping immediately looked up with a bright smile and said “Hello sir” which tells me all I need to know about how well run a business is. A woman met me at the counter with a big smile and asked, “How can I help you?” I gave her my name and was out the door in literally 2 minutes. I have to say the price for a large cheese pizza with extra cheese was only $17. This pizza back in Boston would easily cost twice as much. Now for the reason you’re reading this. The pizza was outstanding! It was thin and sauced perfectly with a lot of cheese on top and every aspect of this pizza was just outstanding. I would absolutely go back again and again. I am UPSET. I typically love this restaurant’s food; I recommend it to people constantly. My husband has written 5 star reviews on the pizza. I’ve never had a bad experience until tonight. The food I’m eating is disappointing - soggy pizza, pepperoni & sausage rolls are all dough, and they forgot my stromboli. But that’s not even why I’m writing this review.

I placed an order online from their website, like always, which automatically placed it through Slice, LIKE ALWAYS. My husband picked up the food, got home, and we realized we didn’t get our stromboli. So I called the restaurant to simply request a refund, because we have plenty of food & I wanted my husband to eat dinner with us, rather than drive back to get it… and the young lady couldn’t locate my order so she asked, who I’m assuming is the cook and/or manager/owner.

The way this man spoke to this girl was despicable. He was speaking to me through her and just yelling! I manage a restaurant and am just so blown away by his tone and volume. I had to tell her I’d call back because I could tell she was getting upset.

He also claimed I have to contact Slice to get my refund; which I know isn’t true… I literally use the Slice tablets at my job & know he has access to issue refunds, ESPECIALLY since I didn’t even order through it since I don’t have the app - the website automatically does it.

I will be paying them a visit when they aren’t as busy to get...

Best New York Styled "Za" in Frederick...period. That is best non-wood fired using a traditional Pizza oven. I have both eaten here and take out...like, a LOT. Spartan dining area, but comfortable and they usually have a ballgame on or Soccer on the TV. I recommend getting a fresh pie and not the ready made slices though, even those may be more suitable for a quick lunch pickup or something. The slices sit out there too long and need reheating. The fresh pizza is fabulous. They have their crust and sauce down. Super friendly owners and staff and the orders are up quickly. The strombolis and pepperoni rolls although ready made are fine to order that way, and when they are reheated out of the oven are wonderful. Pizza Steak subs melt in your mouth. They have very good home delivery as well. Usually the same guys do the delivery. They get it to you quickly...I'd say a generous tip is in order especially if you want more home deliveries in future, cause like I said it's the same delivery people...and they will...
