I was in the mood for a cheese steak & I use to get them all the time before moving to Glen Burnie a few years ago from North East, MD. I hadn't had a TRULY amazing cheese steak since I moved here, several that were good but none amazing so I started craving a steak sub, with cheese, lettuce, tomato, fried onions & hots. After talking about it my mom wanted me to order her one too which I did.. let me say this with all honesty, Subway cheese steak would have been better, it quite frankly was the single worse cheese steak I've ever tried to eat. The meat was minimal & VERY low quality, it wasn't seasoned, there were no fried onions, didn't taste or look like it had mayo on it, it was barely warm (we only live 9-10 mins away). The meat itself tasted nothing of how I remember a Pats Select to taste like. If you looked at the steak sub it was covered with so much lettuce to make it look as though you were getting a great big sub, but it was almost entirely lettuce. I wish I took a pic but after the first bite it literally went in the trash, both of ours. You could see cheese but could not taste it. I also got a side salad. Thank God I tasted the salad dressing before putting it on as it was rancid. I'm guessing it was ranch but it seemed like just straight buttermilk, no seasoning..a theme here, DEFINITELY NO SALT. I'm just a few points away from getting $10 off my next order.. yeah...I can tell you right now I'll never order from here again. I almost NEVER right a bad review...I was always taught if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all but this was so atrocious I felt compelled to warn others not to waste $40 on 2 cheese steaks & a side salad from this place, go ANYWHERE else & your money will be better spent. Maybe the cook had a bad day, maybe something was going on that caused this, but how you don't season things while it's on the flat top is besides me. I can understand forgetting or missing the grilled onions, no one's perfect... But there were so many things wrong with this meal that the disappointments just kept coming.. The only thing positive I could say is the delivery person delivered our food seemed to be here quick, they were friendly & polite & the bread itself was nice & soft which I did like the bread, the lettuce while too much was cut to the right thickness I felt it didn't even settle that craving for a cheese steak since I only had 1 bite & my mom had 3-4.. but we both threw ours out, what a waste of...
Read moreI ordered Pat's Select's burger sliders today and I have had them before a year ago and noticed that today they were bland tasting, the bread was hard and there was literally a dot of ketchup and mustard on each slider. The fries were not the fries that use to come with the meal and they were also bland. I was disappointed because the burger sliders meal was so good when I had it a year ago. Also, when I placed my order the woman I spoke with over the phone did not have a warm and welcoming tone, she wasn't rude but it would be nice to feel like you are being greeted properly especially when you are paying money for good customer service and food. The prices are on the pricey side but it's not the worst. The delivery driver caught me off guard because after handing me my order he just pulled out his phone to pull up what I now know was a tip app, which had me puzzled because he could have easily explained to me what he was doing while I waited. So I patiently wait for him to tell me about the tip process, this approach is not the best approach to inquire about a tip, not sure if it's his phone or a Pat's company phone but with Scaming being at an all time high, I would suggest they try a different approach. I am not sure if the way he did it was done to enforce people to tip because maybe people aren't tipping the driver's often, but it seemed more demanding because his approach doesn't give (me) the customer a chance to OFFER you a tip before you assume that you will be getting one. Nonetheless, I tipped him because I always tip when I order takeout. I probably wont order...
Read moreI don't care for most of the pizza in MD. I never thought of myself as pizza snob from up north until I got here and found out most of the pizza just didn't jive with me. Butter on white pizza (ew), undercooked crust, bad unsalted cheese blends, and stingy toppings come to mind. Whenever I would say I didn't think pizza as a whole was consistently good here, people would tell me I had to drive half a county over to get it. If I can't go in my own town to get good pizza, it's not consistently good, is it?
But with Pat's, it feels like pizza from up north in NJ and NY. I know Pat's is a small Jersey chain and when I lived in NJ, I lived close to two of them. And this location's pizza actually tastes better than it did up there. Especially the Roman ones... IDK what it is but the crust and sauce on it is just great. There are a few toppings I wish they would carry (ricotta, eggplant, roasted garlic, etc), but it's not that big of a deal. I order from these guys about once every 2-3 weeks and it's consistently enjoyable. And I do so on an app that's very well designed.
My one and only complaint is that the app doesn't allow you to order certain things that are on the paper menu. Certain gourmet pies don't show up as an option and you can't just order a white pizza either, unless you just take all the sauce away and specify it in a special request. If you were to order in a NJ Pat's location, everything is available. It's a weird quirk but not the end of the world. Maybe they'll fix it if they see...
