My good good girlfriend and I have been planning for 2 months to visit this location. Well actually it was between this location and the other location Maryland but I appreciated the reviews on Yelp for this one more. We were dying to taste the beignets and specialty hot drinks.
When we arrived we immediately found location within shopping center and ran in to order.
Great layout for the cafe. A lot of bakery items. Looking forward to returning and getting a Butter Croissant. Great hot tea options and the latest snacks on top of bakery display counter to choose from. Extensive beverage menu along with plenty of options including limited edition flavors.
The staff here are very nice, young and vibrant.
After I ordered my Beignets and Butter Rum Cappuccino, I just took in all of the atmosphere. I love the layout. Due to Covid, we were unable to stay but I enjoyed the décor. I really enjoyed the Christmas tunes with the jazz band in the background playing overhead.
This place was a total New Orleans feeling/ mood. While I waited for my order, I struck up a conversation with a gentleman that worked there and he mentioned that this location is the only one that sells the Beignets locally. We drove an hour here today! Words cannot explain how disappointed I would have been if I would have went to the other location and not been able to partake in the New Orleans tradition of Beignets with my specialty beverage.
Outdoors there a few seating options if one chooses, I chose to eat my car. My cappuccino and Beignets were so good! Words cannot explain how good they were! There were so fluffy and light, very tasty. The absolute best I've ever had. My cappuccino had just the right amount of everything. It was smooth!! I will totally get that again if available.
I am so impressed with everything experienced today and I cannot wait to brag to everyone about it as well as visit again.
Job well done PJ's! I am so impressed with everything. We needed you and you're definitely...
Read moreLoved my strawberry cold foam matcha but wish it wasn’t served with so much attitude and aggression. The older lady (barista) started making my drink before the young lady (cashier) was finished taking my order. By the time we finally finished she said she didn’t want to add anything else to my drink because she already made the drink. The young lady on the cashier said she will make my drink, since it was such a big deal. The barista said no she’ll do it then started slamming things around. She added the strawberry puree and my cold foam. I wanted a different top to access my cold foam and she said no. Which is weird especially since I just paid 12 dollars for the drink. What’s the problem with giving me a different top? She said because the other top is only for whip cream. Cold foam is very similar to whip cream but I digress. Then I waited 20 mins for my food. I asked the barista if I could at least have my drink since they was taking so long with the food she ignored me. I asked her again she ignored me I asked her again and she walks over to someone who was next to me and asked them could she help them. They said she’s the one who needed help. She then walked back and continued to ignore me. When the food was finally ready it was wrong, I grabbed the food from the table to show her where it was wrong she then tried to snatch the food from me. I snatched it back from her and walked out the store. The next time I go to PJ she will not be making my drink even if I have to get behind the desk and make it myself. Her behavior was disgusting at it was all at 10am on a Saturday. The 1/5 score is only for the nice cashier with the braids who took my order. The barista lady was rude and nasty to everyone she had a bun in her head and was older than all the other employees, which also made it even more disappointing. 0/5 for the nasty...
Read moreA nearby resident wants to try something other than Panera and Starbucks for remote work. A Google search brought this back, though I've seen it when it was the other store - sweet frog or whatever. Like most new businesses, there are quirks to work out with a new manager, staff, and people and their expectations. For starters, it was warm, unlike the other 2 places that are freezing (SB). The music is great to work, read, write, gather with friends, people watch, or just get out for a bit. It's definitely a local spot, and I heard the staff greet regulars by name - very cool! There are plenty of tables to log in and work. The chairs are not skinny-booty friendly, so you'll have to stand up when the cheeks get sore. Nothing to where it's a deterrent - all love and respect. Since I was undecided between the hot coffees, I tried 2 - Dark Roast and the flavor (praline). Both were delicious, and the price point for it and a pastry was great. The cherry turnover I ordered was good af... It weighed like a half-pound, so I knew it was going to be good. The staff was friendly and professional, and the overall vibe was pleasant. An establishment with all kinds of people and shades (mostly black & brown) and everyone seemed polite. The pix of the Prince George's County police were part of "coffee and cops" and community engagement. Shout out to Chief Malik Aziz for coming up to me and say hello while inquiring about my (remote) workstation set-up. I got a lesson in the ranking structure, laughed about a few things when it comes to police run-ins (speeding) but it was nice to meet him and his officers. ...
