Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Maryland

Ordered via Popeye's website and specified the pieces of meat we wanted. We have one family member who doesn't like spicy items so we ordered 2 pieces of mild for her. Needless to say, ALL the pieces of chicken were spicy and she was unable to enjoy her food. But that is just the beginning of the issue. White meat tends to be very dry, as we don't enjoy it, we ordered all dark meat. 12 pieces in total breaking down into - 2 mild thighs, 2 spicy legs, and 8 spicy thighs. Our order was not remotely close to this. As previously stated we received ALL spicy pieces; additionally, we did not get the meat selections we ordered, which was clearly identified on the receipt attached to our bag. We got all the pieces of meat, white and dark. The problem appears to be two-fold. First, the staff can't be bothered to read the order and complete it correctly and/or they can't actually read the order because they don't understand English. Our second problem was it took way longer than necessary to pick up our order as the staff member who helped us thought every order she was touching was for Judy. We walked in and asked for a pick up order for Judy. The lady said 'Judy?' 'Yes, Judy.' At which point she proceeds to put a small order together and hands it over. 'No, I don't think that's the right order.' 'Judy?' 'Yes.' She walks off into the back and comes out with a bag, 'Judy?' The staff are not set up to succeed when they can't understand what they are reading or what people are saying. If I could give this Popeyes zero stars, I would! Popeyes really needs to check in with the managers at this location Popeyes 19911 Frederick Rd Germantown who are abusing their power with employees. On 08/30/25 at 8:23pm, I came in to pick up a large order for my family. The manager on duty was speaking to an employee at the fryers in a very disrespectful way, right in front of paying customers. She said things like “apúrate, fuiste a MegaMart a traer las papas” and other similar phrases. Is this really how a manager should be speaking to their team in front of customers? In my opinion, that’s the worst example of leadership. A manager is supposed to promote respect, not tear people down. This isn’t just my experience either—my family has also noticed her rude and dismissive attitude on multiple visits. She often responds to customers with annoyance and makes people feel unwelcome. I usually don’t like leaving negative reviews, but her behavior was unacceptable. It literally ruined my appetite. I’m literally taking my precious time to write this review to bring awareness to future customers and management (HR) I worked in the hospitality industry as a manager myself, and I would never treat employees with such disrespect. I even told the cashier to pass along a message in Spanish: “dile que sea amable con él” (tell her to be nice to him). That’s how frustrated I was. My family and I just had the most delightful lunch at Popeyes on Germantown and I couldn't wait to share our wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and friendly greetings from the staff. It immediately set a positive tone for our meal. As we placed our order, the staff member assisting us was incredibly attentive, patiently answering any questions we had and ensuring we had everything we needed. Their kind tone and genuine enthusiasm made us feel welcomed and valued as customers. I must give a special shoutout to Manager Santos, who went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was exceptional. He personally check in on our table to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Our order arrived promptly, and everything looked and smelled absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly crispy and flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning. Despite the restaurant being busy, our food was served in a timely manner, and it was evident that everything was freshly prepared with care. Each bite was a burst of flavor, and it was clear that quality ingredients were used in every dish. Overall, our experience at this Popeyes was nothing short of fantastic. The friendly service, delicious food, and welcoming atmosphere made it a lunch to remember.
