Confusion is truly the best word to describe my afternoon visit to Prime. My friend and I wanted to try a new African restaurant so she found this place and suggested we try it out. When we arrived there was absolutely no guests in the restaurant. We walked to the register and the host was on the phone for several minutes, so long so that my friend and I looked at each other and said “let’s be patient and try”. After he finally got off the phone, we asked if the place was open for service, if we should sit ourselves and for menus. We later realized we had to order at the bar. While attempting to order the host didn’t speak, wasn’t answering questions really and decided that was the perfect time to grab the cordless phone and start dialing numbers. We asked for a drink menu and my friend asks what’s in a particular drink and he answers that drink is upstairs. Again what’s in the drink and he says it’s a mix drink. We finally just order soda and go sit down. We wait…finally comes to the table with 1 drink and 2 straws. Says my friend didn’t order a drink at the bar. She re-orders the drink…oh they don’t have. Orders another drink…oh we have but it’s not cold before just asking for the drink I have. He leaves and comes back to re-confirm the order we put in at the bar, so sir…you haven’t started prepping the order we placed 10mins ago? At this point we’ve been there for 30mins+ and were the ONLY guest in that place. We just paid for the OVERPRICED sprites and left to another restaurant in the area. Smdh sadly it seemed like he was relieved that we left as though he was just a place holder and didn’t know what...
Read moreGreat size fish, beautifully grilled and packed with flavor. That fish was worth the money.
I had to start off with that because man, that fish was delicious.
Now let’s start the review: There is no street parking for this restaurant so I had to park a block away and then walk(bummer). Thats the only bad thing I can say about this restaurant though. Upon entry, I was soaked in a vibrant ambience. I looked around amazed at the decor like a kid in a toy store.
I finally got to counter and ordered “Grilled Tilapia(No Plantains), & Cassava Leaf w/Goat Meat”. I received my order within 10mins. That is quick food service if you ask me. I took it home and then got down to business. Once again, I ate that fish and wish it was never ending.
I never had cassava leaf before so it was an exciting new experience. It was very oily but that was expected from me doing prior research. Once I drained a lot of the oil out, the flavors I tasted were undeniably good. That is something worth trying again if it wasn’t for the oil.
All in all 10/10 , would recommend !

Read moreHorrible and rude service. Had to call two times to clarify the menu and ask how to navigate the website because the discount they offer wasnt working to place the order. The person who answers is rude and we were told that he had other things to do just order what we wanted. EVEN THOUGH the menu has no detailed description. We gave up and just went with the place up the block. If youre not a native dont bother. Its sad because as a Caribbean person I love to support local black place but these people are RUDE and not helpful at all.
The person eventually called me back to tell me he had people asking him questions in person and I was asking too many questions and taking too much time. I told him their website has no information about what dishes have meat or not even if they are listed at vegetables that why we called. He then told us to just order on uber eats or doordash. Were not doing either because the point was to support a local business and walk to pick it up not to pay to have food delivered.
