Rating # 2 ~ A Good thing gone sour so quickly. So an interesting thing happened last night @ our 2nd visit with the rest of our WINO friends (7). The experience was completely opposite of our original visit which was extremely disappointing because we thought we had found a neighborhood GEM. The customer service was awful and the friendliness went down the drain and lacked professionalism. The disposition of the young lady dressed like the chef was terrible, not even a friendly smile. It left a bad taste in everyone's mouth and at the moment, we have no plans to patronize this establishment again based on how we were treated. Let's be clear, the owners that we experienced were not there last night. Sometimes it's difficult to find great help and unfortunately, that could make or break a business; Upon arriving @ 8:30pm, the waitress/bartender allowed us to stand for quite sometime before acknowledging our presence, which was the first matter of concern. It certainly wasn't the warm and fuzzy welcome that we'd experienced just two weeks prior. We were seated at a nice spot that accommodated the group and was advised that the kitchen would be closing @10, and that they would remain open as long as people were present and sipping on wine. We ordered wine flights and food that was tasty. However, when we attempted to order something additional at 9:35, we couldn't and the waitress indicated that the manager/cook closed the kitchen at 9:30 and she further stated that the times are noted on the website. Uggh! Was that even necessary, especially when the waitress advised differently and never informed us of the change and neglected to ask if we wanted anything more. There was no apology for incorrect information and there certainly wasn't an exception made even though we were still waiting on wings. Oh that wasn't the kicker though.... Curtains were closed, air shut off and partial lights were turned off all while we attempted to complete our wine and food. How rude and distasteful.
Rating #1 ~ What a nice neighborhood GEM. My WINO friend stumbled upon this nice and relaxing Wine Bar. It was so laid back with the friendliest and most welcoming atmosphere. The wine selection is awesome! I LOVED my flight. It was perfectly selected. The added bonus was the knowledge and engagement of the owners. Oh, my honey bay wings were prepared exactly how I love them. The WINOs of Nottingham will be back to enjoy real...
Read moreTruly one of my favorite places ever. My friend and I like to come here every month or so and Manny always takes care of us. We usually start with a wine tasting and then get a couple appetizers (the Brussels sprouts will make you love Brussels sprouts; these are not your granny’s soggy sprouts!) and end the night with a glass (or 2 or 3). An added bonus for me is that it’s walking distance from my house ;) The wine selection is phenomenal and they even have wine on tap! Just when you thought this place couldn’t be even more perfect, in the summer they have live music out back from local bands. It’s a family-run place and every time I’ve come I’ve been greeted by and had very pleasant conversation with the couple that runs it. I HIGHLY recommend Reds!! So long as I’m living in the area, I will always...
Read moreJust a quick review. Absolutely LOVE the food. The owners are both incredibly nice people and the food that the owner creates is beyond good. She is so kind and accommodating as to add or remove from the dish any ingredients you don’t like or add any you prefer so long as she has them available. I’ve come to Racer’s for well over 2 decades and always absolutely love the place from the old days of peanut shells on the floors and the old pool table in the back to its current state and the addition of food in my mind is tremendous. Gone is having to stop at Taco Bell or Dominick’s to get food to take there. Now I can get great food to go with the best happy hour and beer selection in Baltimore. Here’s hoping that Red’s remains for...
