Red Rooster — Restaurant in Maryland

I read about this place in the past and since I was in the area yesterday decided to give it a try. Upon entering, i was greeted warmly by either I presumed to be the owner/manager who took my order and had me wait in the outdoor dinning area. Once my food was ready, which was a 4 piece dark meal, i was ready to dig in. The chicken was, as a Southerner and my preference, crunchy outside, juicy inside. Originally my co-worker and I were going to take our food back to our office in Baltimore, but opted to eat at the table under the tent. Despite it being a cool and rainy day, the meal was hot and fit the bill.

I have read previous reviews from others about how the food was better under previous ownership. While I am not a local nor have eaten at the "legacy" establishment a few have given high regard to, I will say the quality of the chicken and service eclipses that of the chain or "mass produced" fried chicken places that dot the landscape and I will definitely return and suggest that if you are in the area, give Red Rooster a...

Delicious food , that been said, my kids had a Friday night football game ,and the game ended at 8:30 pm , so i planned to drove to pick them up and buy some delicious chicken ,since there site says they close at 9:00 pm,I planned at 8 pm to do all this ,I got there at 8:45 pm with starving kids,just to hear they said "we can only sale you two legs and a wing", we will not Cooke more chicken ;we close in 15 minuts and it takes time for the chicken to cook , I said I don't mind I'll wait, so the lady went to her manager already angry at me , the guy came an said we only have 4 pieces we are not cooking no more for today. Not what it use to be. I grew up in Macgomery County and loved coming here as a teen and young adult. I have been in here three times the past six months and I’ve totally lost my admiration for this place The other day ordered a bacon and egg sandwich and home fries the bacon was so burnt it was crumbling in pieces on my sandwich and the egg was so over cooked I could only take two bites and threw it away. The fries were half cooked, still Rall and oil socked. The Spanish girls working in there are blatantly prejudiced. They will hustle, speaking and getting the Spanish guys food orders ready but will ignore and take there time with everybody else. Two Spanish guys came in after me and they receive their food a good five minutes before me. My food was served Horribly over cooked and sloppy I get the feeling and would not be surprised that they charge non Spanish people a higher price.
