Rice Kitchen — Restaurant in Maryland

I love Chinese food and it's hard to find good delivered Chinese food. This is my first time trying Rice Kitchen. I got the pupu platter because I love appetizers, the sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and a spring roll, and a pepsi. What I loved is that the food was fresh, it arrived hot, it was on time, and the soda was cold. It was very tasty!

I would have given Rice Kitchen five stars except that the butterfly shrimp was overly battered. It was wrapped in a wonton wrapper and then dipped in batter and deep fried to make it look humongous. (See picture) I've had that happen at a few other places lately so maybe it's the thing to do now. I would just take shrimp off the menu because it's disgusting made that way and I didn't eat it. Just add something else instead.

Would I order from here again? Yes! And I honestly would probably get the pupu platter, but I know in advance I'll be disappointed...

Food lacks quality. Theres really no good Chinese restaurants in the area so I thought I would give this a try because I found a Groupon deal. The people at the restaurant were nice but that doesn't make up for the quality of food. I ordered a few things- poo poo platter lo mein and fried shrimp with rice box. It seemed as if everything that was fried came from the freezer section at Walmart. It was almost as if the food had been sitting out a little bit too long throughout the day and fried in old oil. The cheese steak egg rolls tasted like it had pumpkin spice in them and we're dry. The regular egg rolls were the worst ive ever tasted. The vegetables were mushy inside and tasted like mold. It instantly turned me off. The rice was ok but it wasn't a real fried rice recipe almost as if it came from a box. Lo mein was decent. Overall i won't...
