We've been going here since it opened. A friendly neighborhood restaurant that is very busy and thankfully made it through covid. Although you can drop in, I say reservations are recommended. This place gets really busy, especially with happy hours and weekends. I've seen many a large table getting served as people go for office, birthday and anniversary celebrations. The dress is casual and there are tables and booths. The small bar area is popular. The service has always been excellent.

Until covid, the food was great. During covid it was good but not great. We did takeout at least once a week, and I also dined in. However, my husband went back recently and dined in and said the food was back to being excellent. The one weakness is the basic Margherita. They are just OK. Get the Gold, one step up, and they're much better.

They start you with decent salsa and delicate warm tortilla chips that are so good. The guac is excellent and worth the price of getting a separate order.

I frequently get the shrimp fajitas. Big shrimp with lots of flavor and perfectly cooked. The steak fajitas are good, too, but order medium rare. This allows for a more tender steak as the strips are thin, so you don't get them overcooked (IMHO). I also really like the Salmon with Capers which has a wonderful delicate sauce (ask for extra) and served with rice, a small potato and a piece of broccoli. Such a nice dish.

A friend gets the seafood platter they have, possibly called Mariscos Saltado. Also popular in our family are the enchiladas ...whether cheese, shredded beef or chicken.

Usually there's no room for dessert but I did have the fried ice cream once, which was shared by the table. The coating was more chewy than crisp lime others I've tried. Still, 4 of us...

We have lived in the area but had never tried this place before. It’s cinco de Mayo so we were looking for margaritas and decided to try this place. While my fiancé and daughter were waiting for me to arrive, my fiancé was hit on the head with a tray by a waiter. The impact was hard enough to make him slam his head against the wall behind him. We then were seated outside. 20 minutes goes by and everyone who was seated after us was able to give their drink orders to the waitress, I had to wave a waitress down to ask if we had one. The waitress relied “oh I guess I’ll do it.” The food was not good at all. I was very disappointed. After we ate, I asked for the check. 10 minutes goes by and she just keeps walking by us. We go inside to ask for the check and I asked for the manager. I let the manager know what happened to my fiancé. The manager replies with that she told him they were sorry and it happened because my daughter was standing in the way?! Excuse me could have been used to make my daughter aware of the situation, as well as my fiancé! The manager offered a free dessert but after the bad experience with the food, we passed! We will not be back. I think everyone there could benefit from...

I have my doordash red bag with me so I said I'm waiting for order 5 minutes later my order came out put it in the red bag walked out the door they chased me down talking about I need to pay for the order ,you didn't pay, you didn't pay, I have my receipt right there in my hand. That was the worst. Told the customer what happened she said I'm not ordering from them anymore I'm about to call them and complain. I don't think they used to seeing African Americans in...

Sol Azteca is a lively Tex-Mex spot in Olney that delivers big flavors and a fun atmosphere. The menu is impressively broad, offering everything from classic burritos and fajitas to more adventurous dishes like enchiladas, soups, and marinatd meats. There is also strong variety of proteins as well as thoughtful vegetarian options. Prices hover a bit high per dish, but portion sizes are generous and the food comes out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. I loved the ribs and shrimp combo, especially with all the fixings to build my own tortillas at the table. Our group also tried steak fajitas, a burrito, and fish tacos — and everything arrived at once, which I really appreciated. The restaurant was busy but we were seated quickly, and parking was plentiful thanks to its location in a convenient strip mall. The service was fantastic too — friendly, attentive, and happy to bring extras without hesitation. If you’re in the area and craving Tex-Mex, Sol Azteca is definitely worth checking out!

Amazing Jalapeño Margaritas and one of the few places with an incredible Mariscada soup! If you eat shrimp make sure to try Gambas Al Ajillo for appetizer. Salmon with capers and any fajitas are delicious. Salmon salad is my option when avoiding all the rice and beans. Their chips and salsa are also great. The staff is really friendly and many have worked there several years, which made me think of them during the 2020 shutdown...luckily they are all back with the same big smile and welcoming service. Just wish they served refried beans and fried yuca. But, they have Tostones!!! And if you ever tried this Puerto Rican tradition you know you must order when available ;)

The food was okay, but I was highly disappointed in our service. I asked for tacos with shredded chicken on corn tortillas, and the server recommended the platter that came with rice and beans. I agreed. However, he brought thick grilled chicken on flour tortillas. Then, insulted my intelligence by saying the flour tortillas were corn.... I typically don't post poor reviews but I was really looking forward to enjoying a Mexican lunch here, and it was far from enjoyment. On the bright side, the tres' leches they serve here is a good portion and tastes delicious.
