I would have gave Taylor's five stars in the past but my recent visit was a little disappointing. I came here on Friday with my family and was so excited that i was able to order the chicken alfredo because we only go to Taylor's on special occasions. I was so hungry and when it came out it I was beyond disappointed. The alfredo had a weird weird taste that I could not pin point. It almost tasted like fish oil or curdled cream I still don't know. All i know is it didnt taste like the creamy, cheesy chicken alfredo I've had multiple times in the past (even though it has been probably 6 months since we've been there) . The waitress Becky was so nice, considerate and caring that i didnt tell her how i felt about the food. I am now regretting thid because i know that she would have taken care of me or any of my family members that had a complaint. Either way I really hope this isn't the new taste of the alfredo because it used to be my favorite dish around the area and I've ALWAYS recommended it to others....I'm not going to end on a bad note. I did go back two days later and got a really good Turkey dinner as the Sunday special and again had the same wonderful waitress. I'm sure I will come back but I'm not sure if I'll ever have the chicken Alfredo because I don't want to be disappointed again... Overall, great place, wonderful people, chicken alfredo... not so much. Still have 3/4 of it in the fridge because I refused to throw away a 16$ alfredo but I'm definitely not eating it so I guess it's going...
Read moreI am a 33 year old male, and I've never written a restaurant review - good or bad - ever. My experience this week at Taylor's compels me to say something. The water and food were not very good at all. After tasting the tap water, I ordered a lemonade, but the lemonade must have been made from the same tap water and had a very bad taste. The waitress confirmed that they have a "problem" with their water. Oh, really? What kind of problem? The "fresh" green beans tasted like they had been soaking in a can for months, but the waitress insisted that they were fresh, not canned, and that the beans must be soft and mushy because they cater to an older clientele. The Mahi was overcooked and dry. My wife's ribs were gross. The sweet potato fries were limp with grease. The three kids didn't complain about their mac n' cheese, nor about their little 3-byte fruit cup side served in the little plastic cups in which they come from the grocery store, but this was definitely a bad experience. Not a great way to start our OC vacation in Ocean...
Read moreJeremiah our bartender and server was super great! The food was mediocre at best. Had the cheesesteak and it was dry and overcooked. The french fries were awful. Cooked in old grease and literally served with dark pieces of old fries and less than a handful on the plate. My wife asked for the mixed appetizer without the mozzarella sticks and to replace with double of one of another item. Whomever ” she is” in the kitchen said no it can be done for some reason .
