This review is for the Aberdeen / Belcamp, MD location.
The short review is that the manager is more concerned about excuses than he is about good customer service.
This was my second visit there, the first visit was within a few days of their opening. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, the first visit I will only say was "uneven". That was a bit understandable given they had just recently opened.
This second visit was about a month after their opening, so one would hope they have worked things out. They were also a fair bit less busy this time around.
My meal (burger) took way too long to come out. Apparently, another waitress took my burger for their customer not realizing it was supposed to be for me. I'm not sure where the other person's actual burger ever went to. A sufficient time after my wife's burger came out the waitress asked if everyone had gotten their food, which I had not, so she put my order in again. After that point, I watched 6 - 10 burgers come up to the window and go out to other customers. After waiting at least 15 minutes after my order was put in again and still no food, I asked to talk to a manager. A few minutes later the manager came out.
The manager only had excuses about how my burger went to someone else and they had to start mine over from scratch. I asked why I had to wait at the end of the queue when 6 - 10 other burgers could have been redirected to me. He said something about the type of cheese. I guess they put the cheese on the burger from the start? Mind you they only have 4 burgers on the menu with only 2 types of cheese between them. So I called B.S., as I'm sure at least a couple other burgers that had gone out were the same item. A couple minutes into the conversation the manager ran out of plausible excuses and finally offered to take my burger off the bill, which took way too long for him...
Read moretl;dr: flies, didn't meet a server for over 15min after taking a seat, no lights on, no tvs on, no bartender even though they were "open". So many flies. We left and went to another restaurant.
We went for brunch, experience was bad enough 10min in that we didnt even stay for food.
It says "open at 11" but the place didnt even look open at 11:02. No lights on in the room and no tvs on, no one behind the bar.
It's self seating so we took our spot. As we sat down a whole gang of flies swarmed around us and our table (idk what that was all about) and about 6 staff came from the back area / kitchen. They stood at the kitchen window and chatted for about five minutes. The only reason they paused theor conversation was because my fiance stared one of them down so we could just be greeted.... finally I thought we might get some water or a drink. She came over and hit us with "I just want to let you know ur server will be here in about 10min" and walked back to the kitchen window.
...??
So we're sitting there the two of us and this group of staff across the room, lights off, no tvs, still no bartender, no offer for water or drinks, or even nachos/cheese or salsa. Flies n junk... we weren't about to wait another 10 min just to be greeted as if we were hungry customers!
We left and went to Olive Tree. Sad because this is a chain and we enjoyed the one in...
Read moreI was genuinely disappointed. We were never greeted. We sat for easily 5 min before anyone even brought us a menu. Granted it was lunch time on a Sunday, but it was super slow. There was only one other table there besides us. The sprouts as an appetizer was bitter and undercooked. It seemed like the roasted red.peppers was an after thought as they were just piled on to the center of the dish.
The burger was obviously a frozen patty. It was fully gray with no seasoning. We had to add salt and pepper to give it flavor. I had the chicken bacon ranch sub which did have more flavor but it had so much sodium that it was almost inedible. Same goes for the crinkle cut fries. I do realize the point of salting the food is to make more alcohol sales, but the food was a disappointment to say the least. But that is never an excuse.
The waiter dropped the food off and never came back to check on us or to refill our drinks. He did have time to go outside multiple times and play on his phone however I have been to many many brew pubs/ micro brewing pubs in my day, but I do not think I will come back to this one. 45$ for two people when we didn't even get alcohol.
The place was clean and easy to access, I just wouldn't recommend the food personally. They seemed to have a large variety of beer available, but I like to try the food before I...
