The Honey Baked Ham Company — Restaurant in Maryland

I reserved our Thanksgiving food about 4-5 days ago with a pick up date of Wednesday, the day before the holiday. Well, as I show them my order information they tell me that they are out of turkey and would have to “wait awhile” for the next batch. Then they look at the rest of my order and tell me they were out of everything minus one item. What’s the point of “reserving” food online if they aren’t actually putting the order together and off to the side, apart from the rest of the food they have left for the people who decided to get something last minute? It should be Joe Shmoe who waited last minute that can’t get his meal, not someone who places an order well ahead of time and plans accordingly. This place is a joke—and if 2020 couldn’t get any worse, they literally ruined our Thanksgiving and left us with nothing since they don’t understand the actual meaning of reservations and online orders. I ordered a 9 lbs. Ham meal deal on December 8th for pickup on December 23rd. When we went to pick up we were given a 8 lbs Ham. When we made the employees aware it was wrong there response was they didn't have any 9 lbs hams. Understandable, except the right thing to do would have been to make us aware prior to picking up so we could adjust our Christmas eve dinner or upgrade us to the 10 lbs Ham. They had ample time to make it right. The icing on the cake is they also said because the price difference between the 8 and 9 lbs Ham is less than 20 dollars that we won't get refunded the difference in price.
