In general, I like Arby’s. I’m a sucker for a decent French Dip, Roast Beef or Crispy Chicken sandwich. Then there are the curly fries. Yum! They have a variety of sauces to give the fries different flavors. It’s a great idea for fast food. The problem is that there are good Arby’s restaurants and bad ones. I was on my way up I5 to do some work on my boat. It was about that time when I need to get some lunch or risk having a grumpy afternoon. When I get like that, I don’t need anything great, just tasty enough to make filling my tummy a pleasant experience. Google Maps included Arby’s in the options and I decided to give it a try. The restaurant is near the freeway and on the right side, so getting there was no problem. There was plenty of parking and I saw a back way out that would get me to a light when the time came to turn left and get back on the freeway. Easy. I looked around when I went in and the front area was clean. A few tables were occupied, but there were several available. There was a couple ahead of me in line who were having some kind of problem making their order. It happens. I waited for quite a while while the couple dithered and the woman at the register called for help. When it was my turn to order, the woman at the register ran off to take care of something. I was left alone for quite some time until another woman came out. Rather than help me, she yelled at the first woman. I managed a fast food joint back in the day and I can tell you that upsetting your order takers never works out well. That was true in this case. She was too flustered to find the right buttons for my order. Her slowness earned her more scolding and things got worse. Eventually, I got my order in and tapped my credit card to pay. I went to a table to wait. The table area was not nearly as clean as the front. I got extra napkins and cleaned up a bit before sitting down. That was when I noticed that several people were also waiting for food. They had been there for a while, so I resigned myself to a long wait for my food. I heard someone call, “Order Up!” No check number or any other way to know who’s order was up. This happened 3 times before my food was ready. I was surprised to see that the food was well prepared. The fries were not quite as hot as I like, but the sandwich was just right. While I ate, I got to listen to the staff yelling at each other. I finished up my food, bussed my table and got...
Read moreCame for Sonic, but they closed at 4pm, due to 4th of July, so was happy to see Arby's was open via their drive thru... Lots of others seemed to have the same idea as the line at the drive thru was more than a dozen cars and moved at a snail's pace, but again, I was just happy SOMETHING was open and willing to serve me! However, after inching my way to the menu/ordering station, it was finally my turn to place my order, or at least attempt to: I started by ordering 2 Apple Turnovers...The voice informed me they were out of all turnovers. Fine. Next, I try ordering two milkshakes....The same voice informed me that they were also out of milkshakes (I had not noticed the sign on the menu board stating this yet), and the voice disappointedly went on the inform me that they were out of Curly Fries and Crinkle cut fries—out of ALL fries! Is this for real? How disappointing... So with a limited menu available, I begrudgingly settled for some other deep fried options to satisfy my hunger, but it had now been 41 minutes from the time I entered the drive thru line to the time I was handed my food... I don't mind the wait usually, but it would have been nice if more of the menu had been available. I understand things happen beyond control, thus why I am still giving 4 stars. The food I DID receive was hot and delicious, so...
Read moreRecently I went to the restaurant Arby's to get a roast beef sandwich plain and a roast beef sandwich with cheese on it and as I was putting in my order I asked for a large order of potato cakes and much to my horror surprise I discovered that Arby’s no longer offers potato cakes. this type of potato has been a staple of the restaurant Arby's for as long as I can remember and I can remember over many decades of going to this restaurant and ordering potato cakes and getting some horsey sauce to go with it. but now the restaurant has discontinued the potato cake and has added in its place crinkle fries. are you kidding me! crinkle fries to make them just like any other restaurant on the market. just like McDonald's or just like Burger King or just like Wendy's now their fries are not stand alone they're just like everybody else! what a pathetic excuse for CEOs in the restaurant business who felt that it was a good idea to take away one of the staple items of the restaurant Arby's. I for one will not be servicing this restaurant again nor any of my family and if I can get them to be convinced I will make sure that none of my friends use the service of...
