If I could give zero stars I would. My husband and I brought our 3 year old daughter and 1 month old son in for a Valentine’s breakfast for the first time. We arrived at 9:35 and got sat at an available table. After waiting for 10 minutes without being greeted, and watching 6 different groups order at the register, we assumed we had to order at the counter. I walked to the counter to place an order and the lady asked if I was dining in, I told her yes and she sent me back to my table and said she would send our server over. After being sat for a total of 20 minutes our server finally came and took an order. We watched a table who came in 15 minutes after us receive their food and almost completely finish and we had still not received our food. My husband went to the counter to ask and was just told that they were looking into it. Sat there for sometime and no one Even attempted to give us any information on an eta with our food. After being sat for an hour We finally packed up our family and walked out. The server was very sweet and you could tell she was new, but communication and making guest a priority is definitely not their number one interest. We ended up going to Jamestown and they heard of our situation and had food in front of our starving 3 year old within 3 minutes...and a Bloody Mary in front of us.
I wanted to clarify a few things based on the response given by the manager. The young lady serving us seemed new and was actually very sweet and doing her best with the situation. I work in the industry and completely understand that you guys were busy with to go orders and the weather. I’m a very patient person when an establishment communicates with me. We communicated with the server, who seemed to be the trainer of the new server, on multiple occasions and she continued to send us back to our table with no real response. I felt as though we kept getting blown off cause she was too busy with to-go order to be bothered. I understand that sometimes you get busy, but I felt as though to go orders were more important than dine-in service.
I did try calling the number from the response but it seems to be a...
Read moreRarely do I use the word disgusting about meals, but that is my summary of the breakfast I was served at Bacon Breakfast Cafe: disgusting! We certainly will avoid this place!
My spouse and I typically go to breakfast every Saturday and Sunday early morning. After reading certain positive reviews about Bacon Breakfast Café we decided to give it a try. We like supporting local businesses.
Located in a strip mall it is very small with limited seating. Seating consists of tables and chairs. The Decor is eclectic. Wait staff is friendly.
I ordered diced eggs and ham with potatoes and toast. It was lackluster in regards to presentation.
The supposed home fries were actually hash-browns, with an extremely mushy texture. In addition to being mushy, gray, with no crisp, they were bland, and gray. When attempting to try to add ketchup, I became quite concerned. The bottle had crusted old ketchup on the outer portion of the lid. Because that bottle was near empty I attempted trying one from a different table. To my dismay it also had ketchup leftovers inside the lid, on the lid. and down the side. Table three the same. Frankly this led me to wonder if those, on customer tables, appear like that.... what else is bacteria ridden?
There was a plentiful portion of scrambled eggs on the plate however they contained minuscule pieces of ham, and not much. Certainly not for the price charged. The worst challenge was that the eggs had a chemical like flavor and my lips and tongue started to tingle. The one piece of toast was barely toasted with a big gob of butter in the middle, not spread.
We noticed that the two women in the table behind us seemed dismayed with their meals too.
Unfortunately I began to develop hives; I am certain the few bites that I had sparked a reaction. Previously that type of reaction was from high sulfate content. I cannot confirm the cause, but know that I am not allergic to eggs,...
Read moreThe homemade hashbrowns are phenomenal! Food and service was good. The most critical feedback I would give would be that the menus vended at the table are not all they serve, they don't have pineapple juice, and the place is a bit small; few tables. There's a dry erase white board on the wall to the left of the register as you face the register. There's no mention of that menu so you may miss out on something you may have ordered there like myself. We plan on returning so I shall have my breakfast quesadilla at that time. Their juice selection falls down in that they do not have pineapple juice. I was sad and cried on the inside. The place is definitely on the "cozy" side. It's not too much of an issue as the tables seem to turn over relatively quickly.
I had bacon and eggs (over medium) w/homemade hashbrowns (they are the string/shredded style btw). eggs were perfectly over medium hashbrowns were amazing. most of the bacon was right at the glorious critical juncture between chewy and crunchy. Good balance of meat/fat and not too salty.
Wife had the French Toast Combo. French toast was good. scrambled eggs were just plain scrambled eggs. They were "fine".
Two young boys (5yo and 8yo) had the kid's chocolate chip pancakes, syrup instead of whipped cream. 8yo: "I loved it." 5yo: "I liked it a lot. That's why I was taking big bites."
I/we fully recommend it. I can't imagine anyone would be disappointed after...
